I was dwarf by the large house standing in front of me. Once living there for so long I took for granted how large it actually was. I've been standing here for about 2 minutes, just admiring every crude memory that lied inside that house where I once lived with the man of my dream.
I finally rang the doorbell bracing myself to see my ex husband and my ex bestfriend. I had been so mesmerized by the sight of my luxurious abode that I had forgotten I was holding a furiously hot plate of lasagna that had turned my forearm a crimson color. "Fuck!" I screamed as I dropped the plate of lasagna on the steps. I guess I said it loud enough for Punk to hear because he shot his head out of the door. "Still clumsy I see. " He said while smiling down at me.
"Shut up asshole." I said, unintentionally giving him a flirtatious smile.
"Come in. Don't worry about the mess. The maid will come and clean it." He said returning the flirtatious smile back at me.
Celeste then stuck her head in between the door and Phil's body to see who he was smiling at. "Oh it's you April." She put on an artificial smile and welcomed me in. I could tell she was a bit intimidated by my presence do to the fact she was ignoring the obvious throughout the whole dinner. She was nervous especially when Phillip Jr. was around.
This awkwardness was so unbearable that I had to say it. "Just so you know, there's no hard feelings between us. I just want us to all be like a family again." I said lying through my teeth. There were plenty of hard feelings; heartbreak, bretrayal, and depression just to name a couple.
Celeste broke down and cried. "Thank you April you're such a good friend to me. I love you so much. I want to be a family too." She was speaking in nonsensical murmurs that only I could possibly understand. She walked over to me and pitifully wrapped her arms around my abdomen and cried on my shoulder. "Even after all I've done to you, you're still a great friend." She repeated. I awkwardly patted her back while taking in my unfamiliar environment.
The place no longer looked like a huge frat house it was now civilized and kinda classy. Everything was the nice velvet color that Celeste loved but, everything that resembled Phil or his personality had completely disappeared. The only trace of Punk besides his lifeless body sitting at the dining table was his scent. I will never forget that scent. I traced the impeccable scent with my nose and my eyes landed on Phil. He was so miserable. I could tell that him living here was as bad as on him as me living with my sister was on me. There I knew that I would get my husband back, it was just a matter of time.
