Vanessa spent most of her morning asleep in her bedroom. She couldn't sleep last night. All she could think about is Simon; strange as it sounds.
Simon woke early but stayed in his bed awake for ages, staring up at the ceiling. He struggled to sleep because of multiple people and his forgotten drunken antics. He wants to know what he did, what she did, what they did, and where did she go. But he can't remember, no matter how hard he tries he can't.
He decides to sit up, giving up with trying to remember things he can't clearly remember. It hurts him really. The fact he can't remember the night he caught up with her again. Only the beginning... no middle, no end.
He pulls himself out of bed and makes his way towards the bathroom. He furrows his eyebrows to find Vanessa's door closed, a sign that the girl hasn't awoken. It's strange for Simon, beating Vanessa in the unconscious race of who can wake first.
He remembers her grabbing her dinner and taking it up to her room last night instead of eating with them all. She has barely spoken to anyone since Simon and her encounter last night. He is scared that he gone too quickly in hopes of her being comfortable around her. Maybe he did screw up, he hopes otherwise.
Simon is startled when the door in front of him opens. A sleepy Vanessa walks out rubbing her eyes and yawning. He chuckles and she looks up and fear is plastered all over her face.
She huffs and mumbles a quick "good morning" before walking down the stairs before Simon gets the chance to reply.
"morning" he mutters, disappointed with her actions of avoidance.
Vanessa walks all the way down to the kitchen to be greeted by Vik eating the usual cornflakes. "Have you slept yet?" She asks curiously whist opening the fridge to grab out the milk.
"Yes" Vik nods and smiles tiredly, "not much but I have slept" he honestly replies.
Vee smiles, "better than none at all."
She isn't going to tell Vik that he needs a break. She can't. It's not her place to reinforce what others have really said because has he taken the words of others on board? No.
Vee hates that Vik sleep schedule relies on others sleeping schedules from all around the world, you wonder when his sleep time actually is.
From what she can see, Vik is extremely dedicated to what he does, she hasn't seen such dedication anywhere else other than her father with his family. That's something Vee dedicates her life to.
"Please don't worry about me" Vik softly intentionally begs.
"I'll try" Vee can't help it most of the time. She's an over thinker, over reactor, over exaggerator. It's something she can't help but continuously do with anyone or anything. Sometimes she wish she could let go.
"So, how's your book going?" Vik asks in an effort to spur up some new conversation.
"I finished it, last night" She mutters awkwardly. Whist not being able to sleep, she took advantage. It was a last ditch effort to try and get last night's moment off her mind. It worked, until she finished the book.
"Oh" Vik's thick eyebrows raise in surprise.
"Yeah, I couldn't sleep last night" Vee sighs pouring the coco pops on top of the piled up cornflakes already in the bowl.
"And why would that be?" Vik queries.
Vee pauses, as she pours the milk into the bowl she is unable to decide whether or not to tell him. Though they are close, she can't really bring herself to trust him with such information in this house. Besides, she isn't sure what last night was. All she really wants to do is forget it.
