A paw prodded her side gently. "Adderpaw! Come on! Snakerocks!" Hawktails voice hissed in her ear. He left the den and his paw steps faded. She sprinted out of the den and looked around. Only Stonetail was up grooming by the highrock. "Morning, Adderpaw. If your looking for Hawktail he just left and said he'd be hunting." I nodded and sprinted out of camp and scrambled up the ravine. She nearly fell back down as she crashed into Hawktail. "Whoa, Adderpaw!" He purred, "do you wanna fall down the ravine?" Adderpaw licked her chest fur awkwardly.
"It's okay. I won't tell anyone you looked like a mousebrain and almost fell down the ravine 'cause of your shot legs." He mewed, flicking her ear with his tail and sprinted off into the trees. "Hey!" She yowled and ran after him as fast as she could. She jumped onto a rock and pushed off onto the branch of a tree. "Hawktail!" She mewed. She began leap from tree to tree, her strong back legs making it easy to move swiftly. She slowed down as she neared Snakerocks.
As she swiftly leapt from branch to branch to get down she spotted Hawktails stripped pelt. She landed silently and snuck over to meet him. "I think I should go back and meet her..." He muttered looking back. "Or not, fish breath." She said stepping out from behind the brackens. "Adderpaw! You scared me!" He hissed cuffing her over the ear playfully. "Stop!" She squeaked pulling away.
"Want to hunt?" He asked as they settled on a rock bathed in sunlight. "Maybe after. You made me use my stubby legs to chase you." She mewed rolling her eyes. "I was kidding!" He retorted twining his tail with hers. "I am gonna go hunt. If you need me just yowl. I won't go far." He said getting up and licking her ear. "Okay but I'm not a kit." She snapped sitting up. Hawktail leapt down Snakerocks and disappeared into to undergrowth.
(Hawktails POV)
Hawktail padded through the forest quietly. He stopped when he smelled rabbit close by. He saw a small white tail bobbing around in the bushes. The tabby warrior dropped into a hunters crouch. He crept closer and closer until he was ontop of the rabbit. He but it's neck hard and the rabbit let out a squeal of shock as it went limp in his jaws. He lifted his head up high and padded back towards Snakerocks.
When he got back Adderpaw was still there. "Rabbit?" Adderpaw asked her eyes still closed. "Yep." Hawktail said dropping the rabbit in front of her face. "I forgot to eat last night." She mewed in between bites. Hawktail sat down twining his tail with hers again. "Can I have some?" He teased. "Sorry." She muttered. "It's fine." He reassured her. He bit into the rabbits side, water flooded his jaws as the warm juices bathed his tongue. Adderpaw swiped her tongue over her jaws and sat up.
"Done?" Hawktail asked not looking up. "Yes it's all yours." She purred. "Forest cats!" A squeaky voice came from above. Adderpaw looked up and saw a brown and black tom. He looked around six moons. "Hello. I'm Bandit." The cat meowed leaping down from the rock. "Who are you?" He asked, whiskers twitching. "Hi, I'm-" Hawktail cute her off. "We are not answering that."he growled. "But-" He slapped his tail across her mouth. "Adderpaw!" He hissed. "Your name is Adderpaw?" The kittypet asked sitting down. Adderpaw bit down on Hawktails tail and he let out a mew of surprise. "I'm Adderpaw and this is Hawktail. Nice to meet you Bandit." She said quickly. "Adderpaw!" Hawktail hissed. "Someone is gonna see us!"
"Should you be talking to this cat?" A deep meow came from above. Bandit hid in a crack in the rocks. Thrushstripe leapt over there heads followed by Bluestorm, Silverstripe and Dapplepaw. "I didn't mean to run into him..." Adderpaw said. Hawktail smelled her fear scent. Thrushstripe flicked his tail and turned to the patrol. "Go back to camp." He ordered. After they left he turned back to the three young cats.
"So, a kittypet Huh?" He said putting his head to one side. "No!" Adderpaw lied flattening her ears. "Then how come I overheard you talking to a kittypet?" He snapped. Adderpaw cowered back. "Leave her alone!" Hawktail growled stepping on front of the apprentice. Thrushstripe lashed a paw out raking his muzzle and making him stumble. "Stop!" Adderpaw screeched leaping onto the Warriors back. "Get off mousebrain!" He growled throwing her off. She hit a rock with a thud.
"Why are you doing this?" Hawktail growled. "What did we do? Your going to hurt is because we were talking to a kittypet?" He said is voice full of pain. "Thrushstripe." He meowed pressing his nose against his fathers muzzle. "Why?" The tom pulled away and scowled at the young cat. "It's wrong." He growled and ran into the woods.
