Happy POV
"Stop! Let her go!" I kept hitting him with my paws. On his arm, legs, anywhere, I want him to let her go!
"Let her go!" I yelled again. "Let Lucy go!"
But he just stretched one of his wings out and whacked me across the room.
"Shut up, pest." His voice was harsh, like a raging fire.
I got up, but I fell back down. I looked up at him and Lucy, but what I saw shocked me.
Etherious had stopped choking her!
He just stood there, watching her coughing in between gulping for air.
"What the hell was that for?" she yelled.
He didn't answer, all he did was stare at her will fierce eyes.
Finally, he said, "My key."
"What?" asked Lucy.
"My key," he repeated. "Where is it?"
"I-I don't know," she said, her voice full of fear. "I must have dropped it when you-" She stopped, as her eyes drifted towards her desk.
I followed her gaze and saw that his key was underneath her desk chair.
Etherious put out his hand, signaling her to give him the key. Lucy grabbed the key and handed it over.
He snatched it out of her hand and started to inspect it. Did he think it was a fake?
As he looked at the key, Lucy got up, pulling on her chair as support. I decided to get up too; the ground wasn't very comfortable.
"I can't believe it," said Etherious.
"What?" asked Lucy.
"I can't believe the someone actually summoned me." He smirked. "You're either the bravest or the dumbest human I have ever met." He turned his head to look at her. "But judging by how your acting, it's probably the second one."
"But what's going on?" she asked. "Why did you attack me? I was just going to ask if you wanted to make a contract!"
"First of all: I did it because I wanted to. Second of all: no one makes contracts with me. Ever."
"What? But why?" she asked. "Those people gave us your key. Did they not know about this?"
"What? The people from that village? Of course they knew. The only Celestial Wizard in that village was able to send me back, but died in the process."
"What??" Lucy half yelled. "Then that would mean that they put the key in the reward on purpose just to get rid of it!"
"Well, looks like you're not that stupid, cat."
He walked over to the window and slightly pulled open the curtain. Afterward, he turned to Lucy.
"What year is it?" he asked.
"It's x792," she replied. I was shocked, she didn't looked scared when she spoke to him anymore.
Etherious froze.
"What?" I asked. "What year was it when you were last in the human world?"
He turned towards me. Eek! But he didn't look as mean as before. And he didn't say anything for a while, he just stood still with distant eyes.
"15 years ago," he finally said. "Year x777. Not as bad as I thought, I would have guessed at least a century."
"So you were stuck in the Spirit world for three of their months," said Lucy. "One day there is equal to three months here."
So he wasn't stuck there for that long from his perspective... I thought.
Etherizes started walking around the room, looking at everything: the desk, the bed the chairs.
"What's your name, human? Oh, and the cat too," he said.
"Lu-Lucy," she said.
"Luigi? What kind of name is that?"
"It's Lucy! And if you hadn't attacked me before you could've heard me."
"Oh, she's got bite," he taunted. "I like that in a human, I don't see it often. And what about you, cat?"
"It's Happy," I said quietly. "But why do you want to know, Etherious?"
"Natsu."
"What?"
"I prefer Natsu," "Natsu" said. "Etherious is just like a species name, like demon but more specific. I suppose it's like the little dog, Nicora. Besides, it's getting annoying when you called me that."
I suppose that makes sense, but a demon species?
"I suppose that you won't want to be sent back considering you took your key," said Lucy. "But what are you going to do? You can't survive in the human world or you'll die!"
Natsu smirked. "Leo was able to do it, so why can't I?"
"But he almost died after three years!" I yelled at him. Why did I care though?
"Think about it, if I had to be forcibly sent to the Spirit World where would I have been before? The human world," he said. "Before she sealed me I stayed in the human world for 400 years."
"T-That's impossible," Lucy stuttered. "Loki was only able to do three and even that should have been impossible!"
Natsu looked like he was able to say something back, but was stopped by his stomach grumbling.
"You guys got any food here?" he asked. The casualty in his voice bothered me.
"Excuse me?" Lucy looked dumbfounded,
"I said 'where is the kitchen?'" said Natsu angrily. "The spirit world doesn't have any decent food. I'm starving."
"Wha- I-" stuttered Lucy. "You can't just attack someone then just ask them for food!"
"And why not?"
"Because-, well you just can't!"
"Hmm... Then how about this: if you do everything I tell you, then I will consider giving you my key. How does that sound?"
The room was quiet for while. Then:
"Why would you be willing to give up your key?"
"I never said I would, I said I'd consider it. Big difference.
Lucy thought for a moment, putting her hand on her chin.
"You can't actually be considering that!" I said to her. He's a demon! He can't be trusted!"
But she ignored me.
"Deal."
"No!"
Natsu smiled. "I'm glad we came to an agreement." He held out his scaled hand to Lucy, and she did the same.
They shook, and the deal was forged.
I have a really bad feeling about this...
