Natsu POV
Bandits, huh? Sounds interesting. It'll give me an excuse to punch someone. Who knows? Maybe I can show them how to barbecue while I'm at it.
"So remind me again where we're going," I said to Lucy.
She sighed quietly. "To the client's house, Mr. Andrick. He owns a rare gemstone company, which is why he's a common target for theft."
"Hmm... sounds interesting. Maybe after we defeat them I can take all the gems they stole."
"No," said Lucy. "We will return them to the client."
"Excuse me?" I replied. "I don't think that's what you're supposed to say. You're supposed to do everything I tell you. So if I want gems, you're going to get me gems. Disobeying me isn't allowed, even if it goes against your precious morals of stealing or whatever."
"This has nothing to do with 'my precious morals.'" she retorted. She pulled out the request flier an handed it to me. "It's part of our job. In addition to capturing the bandits, we have to retrieve all of the stolen gems. Or if there are some they sold, we tell him where their location is."
I stared blankly at her. "Well that's stupid. Why would anyone go that far?"
"Apparently," she continued. "the client has put out a job like this before. However, he didn't request bringing back the stolen gems. The mages he hired did the job correctly, but it was later discovered that they took the stolen gems for themselves."
I sighed. "Fine I'll let it slide." I looked around. "Are we really going to walk there?"
"Of course not." She pointed to a large building ahead of us. "We're going to the train station to ride there."
I stopped. Then started walking in the opposite direction.
"Wait, what's wrong?" She sped up then walked next to me. "Where are you going?"
"Finding somewhere I can change back so we can fly there, obviously," I said with a sneer. Nope. No trains. Flying is good. No trains.
"But the train station is right there!"
"Don't care, we're flying."
She stopped. "Oh..." Then she laughed.
"What?" I asked, stopping.
"You get motion sickness! Don't you?" She was smirking.
Shit.
"No!" I lied. "That's ridiculous! I just prefer flying."
She was still laughing. Even Happy managed a nervous giggle.
I gritted my teeth. "So what if I do? I've got wings, I don't need vehicles."
She gradually stopped laughing then crossed her arms.
"You're trying to pass as human, right? Don't you think people would find it suspicious if they suddenly saw a demon flying above them?"
As much as I hate it, she's right.
I groaned. "How long is the ride going to be?"
"Um, I'd say at least 30 minutes, possibly more."
I groaned again, then swallowed.
"Not one word out of either of you," I sneered. I trudged to the station and Lucy and Happy followed.
"Whatever you say," Lucy teased.
"Alright," I said. "Let's get this over with."
