They all went back to the Study to discuss on
how they were going to plan their attack on Jack the Ripper.
"Alright so here is what we will do, we will setup an attack. Now I suggest we get some tools from the kitchen, and lay out bait for him. When he comes, we can jump out and attack him. How does that sound?" asked The Butler.
"Well if he knows where we are at when we leave a room, then wouldn't he be watching us when we leave the room?" asked Mr. Graves.
"That is true," replied The Butler,"We will probably all half to go together so we don't get separated and get killed."
"No the problem is when we are setting up, he could be watching us." said Miss Griffidonce.
"Oh dear, this will be quite difficult." said The Butler,"Ok how about this I will go retrieve the tools and you stay here and guard the room."
"Alright, but be careful." said Miss Griffidonce.
"I will." replied The Butler as he left and closed the door. They all sat there, scared that this is actually happening.
"You know what I find interesting?" said Mr. Graves.
"What?" replied Mr. Graves.
"That when he leaves the room, someone ends up dead."
Everyone sat there questioning if Jack the Ripper could be The Butler.
"That's preposterous," yelled Miss Griffidonce," My butler is not capable of murder!"
"Everyone one is capable of murder, but some just don't have the will not to do it." replied Mr. Graves,"I am going to see what your butler does when he's gone."
Mrs. Graves grabbed his arm and said,"Don't go with that mainiac wondering about within the manor, you'll be killed for sure!"
"I will be fine, let me just catch up to him and discuss what we think is happening." replied Mr. Graves. Mrs. Graves was running to him and begging he wouldn't go. He was already out the door. She sat back in her chair worried and scared that her husband might be next. Miss Griffidonce suggested that they put on some music. They put on Requiem: Lacrimosa on the record player. The lightning crashed and the thunder roared. The power turned off. They all jumped and grabbed a candle found in the desk and lit it. They all became nervous for it has been ten minutes he was gone. The Butler came back with knives and material to set up their attack.
"Where's Theodore?" asked Mrs.Graves.
"He left? Did he say where he was going?" replied The Butler
"You mean he didn't catch up to you?" asked Miss Griffidonce.
"No, I went to the kitchen and came back with the materials."Oh my god where is he?" Mrs. Graves yelled as she ran out of the Study and dropped the candle on the floor and blew out. She saw a blood trail that leading to the Guest Room. When they opened the door they saw that the trail led to the porch. When they walked on the porch it was pouring down rain and they saw Mr. Graves hanging from a tree and a knife stabbed in his chest. Mrs, Graves screamed and ran to the bed and cried. Everyone else saw what had happened and Mr. Veitch turned to The Butler and said,"It's you isn't it? You're Jack the Ripper."
"Certainly not, to do that, that would have taken more than fifteen minutes, and wouldn't I be wet." replied The Butler.
"Well either Jack the Ripper is one of us, or he is lurking in the manor."
Why haven't we called the authorities?" Mrs. Graves yelled as she sobered.
"Thats actually a smart idea." replied Miss Griffidonce as they ran towards the phone in the kitchen. Once they arrived, they phone had been smashed with a mallet.
"Well, there goes that plan." said Mr. Graves.
"We can't leave the manor either the roads are flooded. We're stuck here." said Miss Griffidonce.
"So death is our only option." replied Mrs. Graves as she wiped a tear with her handkerchief. While everyone was discussing on what to do, a thump was heard in the hall. Everyone froze and silenced.
"What was that?" Miss Griffidonce whispered.
"I do not know, I'll go check be right back." said The Butler.
No one cared because they knew he was Jack the Ripper. A few minutes went by and he didn't return.
"Where is he?" asked Miss Griffidonce.
"I'll check to see." replied Mr. Veitch.
"Be careful, it might be a trap." replied Mrs. Graves. He left the kitchen and entered the hall. He saw The Butler lying on the floor; blood spreading on the floor. He goes back to the kitchen and said,"He was telling the truth, he didn't do it,"
"You don't mean..." replied Miss Griffidonce.
"Yes ma'am, he's dead." he replied.
They stayed in the kitchen and knew that Jack the Ripper was not one of them, but he was present in the house, somewhere in the house. They decided to go back to the Study. As they get to the top of the stairs, a shadow comes out of the shadows and stabs Mrs. Graves in the back. She gasped for air and couldn't move.
"Run to the Study and do not come out!" yelled Mr. Veitch as he pulled out a knife that he took from the kitchen when he was searching the house. Miss Griffidonce ran back to the Study and slammed the door and locked it. As she was behind the door she heard a struggle of Mr. Veitch and Jack the Ripper fighting. A few minutes later, it became quite. She wanted to go out, but she didn't want to get killed. She had to know what happened to Mrs. Graves and Mr Veitch. She took the letter opener from the desk and opened the door and closed the door quietly. The search for Jack the Ripper began.
