Murder at Griffidonce Manor

Chapter 4 Searching The Manor

          Everyone had started to search the manor. Mr. & Mrs. Graves took the ground floor, Miss Halford took the attic, Miss Griffidonce told everyone she wanted the basement. Even though that is the most scariest place in a murder situation, The Butler took the Second floor, and Mr. & Mrs. Veitch took the Guest House on the side of the main manor.

        

          Mr. & Mrs. Graves searched the kitchen first. They both took a knife for protection, they didn’t want to be unarmed. They had to be safe. They checked the Dining Hall, the Ballroom where Mr. Whitham lie’s dead, and the Billiard Room. They needed to check the Living Room, the Conservatory, and they needed to check every end of the Hall.

        

        Miss Griffidonce went down the stairs to the basement. She walked down every hall and room in the basement. She didn’t find any sign of a murder hiding in the basement. However, she did find a bloody butcher knife on the basement floor.

“This might have been the knife that was used to stab Mr. Whitham.” Miss Griffidonce told herself. She hurried up the stairs to inform the others. She called out,”Mrs. Graves… Mr. Graves… Where are you?”

Mr. & Mrs. Graves burst out of the Livng Room and startled Miss Griffidonce. When they approached her, she noticed that they both were holding a knife.

“Why do you have a knife?” Miss Griffidonce asked them both.

“I could ask you the same, and with blood on it?” replied Mr. Graves.

“Found it in the basement in the servants quarters, it is probably the knife used to kill Mr. Whitham. Now why do you have a knife?”

“Protection,” replied Mrs. Graves,”Only for protection.”

“I see.” Miss Griffidonce said,”Where the others?”

“Probably where they need to be.” replied Mrs. Graves.

“Okay you go get Mr. & Mrs. Veitch in the Guest House, I will retrieve The Butler and Miss Halford.”

“Alright.” they both said.

Miss Griffidonce started to walk up the stairs while Mr. & Mrs. Graves hurried to the Guest House.

When Miss Griffidonce got to the top of the stairs, she bumped into The Butler in the hall and asked,"Do you know where Miss Halford is?" The Butler replied," I do not, she should be in the attic though, why do you have a bloody knife?" The Butler asked nervously.

"I found it in the servant quarters, calm yourself." she replied.

"Well I will take that and you go retrieve Miss Halford, I will gather up the others."

"Alright." she replied to The Butler.

She went up the stairs to the attic and searched for Miss Halford.

"Miss Halford? Are you in here?"

She did not respond. Miss Griffidonce looked for Miss Halford everywhere. She was no where to be found.

"Could she have possibly..." she tripped and fell on the floor. She picked up her hand and saw blood on the floor. She turned to see what had tripped her, and there she saw Miss Halford ripped open; her insides on the outside. It was too horrid for her to see. She quickly got up and ran down stairs to the others.

"Help me please someone!" she yelled as she hurried down the stairs.

"What has happened?" asked Mr. Veitch.
