Part 6

I run to his room and throw open the door.

"Nice to see you are alright, (Name)-chan." Japan looks at me from Ludwig's bedside.

"Did he really save us from zhat bomb, Kiku?" I slowly creep up to stand next to him.

"Hai, he did," he looks up at me from his chair. "Would you like to look after him while I go make him some tea?"

"Ja, zhat's fine," I reply and take my seat.

He smiles at me and says, "I'll be right back," and leaves the room. I look down at Ludwig. His body is covered with bandages, many on his torso and face.

"Ludvig... I'm so sorry," I touch his cheek as he sleeps. "If I had just gone back vizh Feliciano, if I hadn't run avay at all!" Tears sting my eyes and fall down my cheeks. "You'd be ok..."

"(Name)..." His face contorts in pain and he slowly opens his eyes. "Vhy do you zhink zhis is your fault? I chose to protect zhe zhree of you, because you are my friends."

"Ludvig..." I cover my mouth to muffle the sobs I could feel rising in my chest. He reaches up and wipes a few tears from my eyes.

"Don't vorry, it vill take a lot more zhan zhat to kill me."

"I hope you are right," I grab his hand. "I don't zhink I'd live if you died."

He looks at me. His icy blue eyes, staring into the depths of my (e/c) ones. "You can trust Feliciano and Kiku," he says. "Zhey are mein best friends, I couldn't ask for better ones."

"Zhat's nice, Ludvig..." I smile. "I'm glad zhere are people you enjoy being around."

"Mein bruder is a good man too, you vill have to meet him," he looks up at me.

"Vhat? Vhy?"

"Just in case I am sent to fight," he averts his gaze towards the open window. "He vould look after you and keep you safe."

"Oh... But Ludvig, I-"

"I'm back with some tea," Kiku knocks on the door and enters the room. Following behind him, Feliciano is carrying a large bowl and two plates along with some napkins and forks.

"I made some pasta for you!" He smiles at us. I look at Ludwig, and he looks at me and grins.

"Danke."

After we enjoy Kiku's amazing tea and Feliciano's delicious pasta, Ludwig falls asleep.

"Come on, (Name). We shouldn't disturb him" Kiku gently grabs my arm and leads me from the room.

"He vill recover quickly?" I ask.

"Only time will tell, (Name)-chan," Kiku smiles.

"Don't worry, (Name)! A little explosion can't hurt our commander!" Feliciano pats my head and smiles at me.

"I hope you are right!" I giggle.

"Ve~ want to go on a walk with me, (Name)?" Feliciano asks.

"Oh, I'd love to, but vouldn't it be dangerous?"

"Yes, but I know where all the bomb shelters are!" He smiles. "I could always carry you on my shoulders and run too!"

"Alright, Feli!" I smile. "Let's do it!"
