"We're not gonna have that happen." Aaron said. "How are we gonna change it up, though?"
"All we gotta do is do something completely different to what Lily saw her in her nightmare." Jackie said, looking over at her friend. "You're gonna have to to tell us the events that lead up to it when we get back there. See if anything we do is familiar to it."
Lily nodded. "Yeah, sure."
"Just give him some time for now, though." Nick said. "It's best if we leave him alone this time."
They nodded in agreement, sitting around the living room.
"So...now what?" Lily asked.
Nick shrugged. "Just wait for now I guess until Zak comes back inside. Then maybe we'll head back there soon after, try to change up the events, like Jackie said."
"Yeah, if Zak comes with us." Aaron said. "Because we basically can't without him."
"Well, then if we have to do it without him, then we'll do it without him." Nick said. "Besides, wasn't he the one trying to kill me anyways in your nightmare, Lily?"
"Yeah..." She said. "He was.."
"So then if he isn't there, it would totally change it." He said.
"But we still need permission to get on that island, though." Aaron said. "And he basically has that permission for all of us."
Just as he finished saying that, the door opened again, and they all looked up as Zak came back inside, still looking a little angry.
"You..okay?" Lily asked hesitantly.
He lifted a shoulder. "A little...but since you guys need answers to this, including myself, we'll head back there in a few hours and see if we can change up that moment."
Breathing a sigh of relief, they agreed to what he said, getting their stuff ready now. Setting a couple briefcases of equipment on the couch, making sure they had everything inside them before they relaxed a little bit before they had to leave.
"I don't want to kill him...I don't want blood on my hands." Zak said, sitting on the bed.
Lily sat next to him. "You won't..we'll make it different."
"We don't know what tricks they can pull." He said, glancing at her. "Spirits have their own mindset, having it all end the same, no matter how many times you change an event up."
"Either way, you're not gonna kill him." She said, sounding confident. "We're not having a friend die out there when we go back."
He only nodded, looking down at the ground again when he felt her arm around him.
"We'll get through this together, I promise." She said, getting him to smirk for a split second before it vanished. They didn't say much from that point when they heard a knock on the door, grabbing their attention as it slowly opened.
"We're heading out, if you guys are ready." Jackie said.
Lily nodded, standing up, Zak following behind her. "Let's go then."
Making sure they had everything, they grabbed the briefcases they needed before they all headed out of their hotel room, back to the island.
***
Nobody said much on the boat ride to the island, everyone anxious and nervous at the same time. Pulling up to the dock, they grabbed their stuff and got off, thanking the driver once again. All of them were more nervous than before, knowing what will happen later tonight if they don't fix it.
Heading inside the main building, they knew the energy changed around them like all the other times, feeling slightly uncomfortable as they got everything ready. The sun was starting to set, meaning everything was gonna start getting crazy again soon.
"You guys ready?" Aaron asked, holding his big camera in his hands.
"I guess..." Zak said, uncertain. "Let's just get this over with."
Switching their cameras to night vision, Jackie had a digital recorder in her hand, a flashlight in the other, same for Lily. They both turned them on, not really needing to use the flashlights, since it was still a little light out. They stood by the long and creepy hallway, looking down it.
"Alright." Nick said loudly. "We're back, and we want answers! So let us know you're here right now!"
They waited a few seconds, not hearing a response.
"Come on, don't be cowards!" Jackie said. "Show yourself or do something!"
Just then, they heard a loud bang, jumping a little as they looked towards to where they heard it.
"That sounded like the ladder leading up to the tower." Aaron said, heading towards it, only to realize something that sent chills through him. "Holy shit it was knocked off!"
"Are you serious??" Nick asked, everyone else heading to where he is, seeing it knocked off themselves.
"Damn." Lily said. "Well, something is here for sure."
"Who just knocked down this ladder?" Zak asked out loud. "Speak up if you're guilty of it!"
Just as he looked at his camera, a black figure came rushing at him, right at the camera, followed by a ghostly scream, and he screamed himself, jumping backwards, almost falling over if Lily wasn't there to catch him.
"Whoa, Zak." She said, alarmed. "What just happened??"
It took him a few seconds to recollect himself. "Zak, talk to us." Nick said. "What's going on?"
"I swear..I saw a black figure..just rushing at me, dude." He breathed. "I saw it through the goddamn camera. Right on the fucking camera screen!"
"Okay, okay." Jackie said. "Can you show us?"
Zak nodded, his shaking hands pressing the rewind button. Once it got that part, he pressed play, everyone crowding around him to watch. A few seconds later, there was indeed a black figure rushing right at him.
"Oh my god." Nick said. "That's insane."
"Who just showed them self to Zak? Lily asked, holding out her recorder. "Tell us now!"
Waiting a few seconds, she hit stop, playing it back. Holding it up to her ear, she listened close, her shoulders tensing up when she heard a faint voice, but she knew what it said.
"Guys...I got something." Lily said, turning back to them. They all listened as she hit play, and they all heard the deep, demonic-sounding voice.
I'm gonna kill you.
