Robbie was overjoyed about getting his new job; it called for a celebration. Robbie had no one to celebrate with so he decided to treat himself to a night at the local restaurant, 'The Spike and Roll'.

After a lovely meal of worm pie, and after having to deal with a not so lovely waitor, Robbie decided it was time to go home. He realised after leaving the Spike and Roll that a storm was starting to form just over his home. It got louder and louder as the rain and thunder came crashing all around. Robbie was terrified. He developed a fear of thunder when his Uncle Jimmy got hit by lightning, he was on crutches for months. Robbie began to run, faster and faster until he was sprinting.

He finally got to his house and stopped, hardly able to breath. He looked up, needing sorely to get into his nest. He gasped as he saw the patch where his home had once been. His and the homes of his neighbough's had all been blown away in the storm. A hedgehog wearing an illumines jacket rushed over to Robbie. "Now, I know this must be quite a shock," he begun "but do not worry, a team of construction headgehogs have already been hired to rebuild your home free of charge." Robbie thought he was going to cry, "Where will I live?" The luminous hedgehog smiled, "there is a homeless hostel just by the patio, climb into that van with your neighbours and we will take you there.

Robbie wasn't sure whether he should go. He had heard lately that creatures all over the garden were going missing and he didnt want to join them, but what choice did he have? He could freeze to death out here. "Ok, thank you for your help." Robbie reluctantly crawled into the van.

The van was full of shivering hedgehogs. Robbie managed to catch a glimpse of the driver, a mole in his mid thirties. The mole didn't look like the kind of mole that was about to abduct some hedgehogs, but he still felt very nervous.

The homeless hostle was cold and smelt funny. Robbie wanted to get out. He was suddenly nobody, no home, a small job and no friends. He needed to do something, something big, to get himself known. He knew exactly what; he would investigate the disappearances in the town.

He picked up the newspaper off the hostels desk. The headline read, 'Rodger the badger is stolen from his house, the captor only left a nutshell.' Robbie thought carefully, he could not think of an answer. He would go to the library in the morning to study the other headlines, first though, he needed to rest. He had had a tough day.
