"RIP IT FROM HER NECK!"

As soon as he said those words another elder punched him in the face and the man hit the ground with a loud thud. Soon all the old men and women pounced on each other and a fight broke out amongst them. Punches, smacks, yells and groans were emitted around the room. I could only stand there with my mouth hanging open wondering what the hell just happened.

I looked at Craig and Nate and they were both just standing there murmuring things to each other and even occasionally chuckling. I walked a little closer curious as to what they found so funny about the fight.

"Twenty bucks Ron gets socked in the face by Jenny in the next five minutes." Craig whispered to Nate.

"Thirty bucks Jem hits him."

"You're on." They both shook their hands and continued to watch the fight.

Classic freaking men.

Soon an older man with a large, gray mustache got up on a chair and started waving his cane hollering from the top of his lungs. Another older man jumps up behind him and socked him in the face knocking him to the ground.

Craig groans and pulls out cash from his pocket and slaps it on Nate's hand.

"Should have never doubted Jem."

"Aren't you guys going to do anything about this?!"

Craig and Nate both spun around to face me. Craig had his always present smirk while Nate had a slightly worried frown at the sound of my panicked voice.

"I mean isn't someone going to get hurt? For God's sake they're elderly people. They might break a hip or something!"

Nate stood there awkwardly while Craig just shrugged.

"Their werewolves. They can take a punch. It'll end eventually."

Craig turned around and continued to watch the fight while Nate glared at his insensitivity. He looked back over to me and awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck.

"You don't have to worry about them, Ricky. This is usually the way they solve things. The fight should end any minute now and they should come to a solution. The best solution actually."

That worried me. What if the best solution was to rip the necklace off me? Would Nate let that happen? I looked down at my hands and started to fiddle with my fingers.

"What if they still want to kill me after the fight?"

"'I'll kill them all."

I let out a laugh and shook my head. My laugh stopped when I looked up and saw the serious expression on his face.

"Nate! You can't seriously kill all those elders because of a girl you met yesterday at a bar!"

"Not just a girl. My mate! You're my mate, Ricky. I'm not going to let them harm a single hair on your head."

He'd already proved today that he'd defend me, but I also knew that slaughtering a bunch of elders would not sit very well with Craig or the Head Alpha, our highest authority. I knew it was just his emotions and probably his wolf talking. For the few hours I'd known him, I didn't think Nate was "insane murderer material."

I let out a long sigh and shook my head.

"Craig would be pissed if you killed them."

He turned his head to glance at back at his Alpha who was currently engrossed in the elder's fight. I saw him nervously gulp before he turned back to me and cleared his throat.

"Screw Craig."

I laughed at his answer. He always tried to keep this tough man act in front of me. Even if he really was incredibly strong, he was kind of mushy on the inside. I couldn't help the smirk that grew on my face.

It was probably the wrong time and the wrong place but my inner tease was coming out. He gave me the perfect opportunity to mess with him.

I trailed my fingers up his arms, stood on my tippy toes and wrapped my arms behind his neck. Nate's shoulders stiffened at the physical contact and he looked around the room to see if anyone was staring, which was a pretty funny thing to do considering there was a hell of a fight going on behind us.

"Wow! You're such a bad boy, Nate. You would slaughter elders, and disobey your Alpha just for me?"

I let one of my hands trail down his neck and onto his chest where I could feel his heart beating 100 miles per hour. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying this as well. The man was fit. My hands were tingling and buzzing with warmth at the touch of him. I pulled his face closer to mine so our breaths were intermingling. He smelled of mint, kindness and strength. We were millimeters away from each other and his hazel-green eyes were dilated and fixed on mine.

Damn sexy.

My mouth pulled into a smirk, "Come on, Nate. Tell me. Are you gonna be a bad boy? Cause if you are, I can be bad too."

Nate looked a little startled at first. He was looking down at me with wide eyes. His mouth was opening and closing like a fish out of water. He didn't know what to say and I couldn't help but let a giggle escape. The giggle turned into full out laughter making Nate realize that I was intentionally teasing him. He pulled away from me with a groan while I continued to laugh out loud. He tried to walk away from me but I grabbed his hand and tried to pull him back towards me.

"Aw! Come on Nate! I was only messing with you don't be mad."

He would not look me in the eye while he pouted like a man-child. I placed my hand on his cheek and turned his face back towards mine. His green eyes locked with mine and I could see millions of thoughts and insecurities were raising through his head. For some strange reason I knew that the  "bad boy" comment I made was bothering him. He needed my affirmation to ease his insecurities.

"Nate. I don't want a bad boy. I've met plenty of bad boys before. They're not that special."

His eyebrows raised in surprise and confusion. I reached down and grabbed his hand intertwining my fingers with his and felt a heat shoot up my arm and run straight to my heart.

"I want a hard working, kind, attractive but shy Beta from a small pack. "

He swallowed nervously and a second wave of blush settled on his face. I bit my lip to hold a smile back. I let go of his hand and placed my hands on his shoulders.

"Nate, did you know I find you even more attractive when you blush?"

He then surprisingly placed his hands on my lower back and drew me closer to him making me squeal in surprise. He leaned down and his face was near mine.

"Your mouth has no filter." He practically growled.

My heart started to do a little tap dance. I grinned and shrugged.

"It's a blessing and a curse."

He started to play with the ends of my hair at my waist while he scrutinized my every facial features and I his. We were so incredibly close and I knew he wanted to kiss me. I could tell by his blushed cheeks and the way his eyes were locked in my lips.

But life just seemed to hate me.

"Ahem!"

We both turned around to see that the fight had ended and that all the elders and Craig were now looking at us awkwardly. They were all bruised up and splashes of blood decorated the floor and walls. One nice little lady elder decided to break the intensely awkward silence.

"It seems," she spit blood out of her mouth,"the council has reached a decision."

I know it's been a while but college is a w(b)itch. Hope you enjoyed it.
