It's Ricky in my head. I just think the physical difference is refreshing.
----------------------------------------------
RickyI was rushing out of the bar when a hand on my shoulder stops me. I turned around to find that it's Steve the same trashy truck driver.
"Where are you going in such a rush?"
I let out a heavy sigh.
They never learn.
"I've decided that I have to leave."
He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
"Why?"
I looked at my watch. 6:58 PM. Annie usually came home at around 7:10 due to traffic. I really didn't want to be here when she came home.
Gotta get rid of him.
"Listen, Steve. I'd love to stay and chat but I really go-"
"Well before you leave let me at least give you something to remember me by."
I didn't do tokens of love but I figured that there was a chance it would be jewelry and that I could maybe pawn it for some cash if it was real.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a dirty, blue landyard with a bunch of cheap portable USB drives dangling as if they were charms. I looked from him to the gift and then quirked up an eyebrow.
"Umm... Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll be fine-"
Suddenly the front door opened and in swarmed the most heavenly smell on Earth.
I know most would think it smelled all woodsy, minty, and masculine and yes, it was all of that. However what made it special is that I smelled him. I could smell who he was and I loved it. He smelled kind and loyal. He was silly and goofy and shy. I wanted to turn around, find him and then hug him to make him comfortable.
I turned around to see who the smell angel was when Steve cane up behind me, put the landyard around my neck and chanted some sort of creepy spell into the back of my neck.
"What the hell are you doing, Steve?!"
I turned back to face him and he had some sort of panicked look in his creepy, beady eyes.
"Listen babe, I'm so sorry I had to do this but that information is sacred. Now whatever you do don't let those guys take the necklace off of you. It will drain your energy and you will die."
He took my hand and placed a sloppy, wet kiss on it looking up at me with a smirk and a satisfied, creepy look in his eyes.
"It was a pleasure meeting you, Ricky. Now run."
With that he took of sprinting. I stood there in shock.
What the hell just happened?
All of the sudden I hear one of the guys that came in yell, "Get the girl!"
They wanted to take the necklace that would kill me if I took it off...
Run.
I jumped the counter and took off into the kitchen I heard footsteps close behind me. I dodged all the crappy cooks and headed for the back exit. I opened the door and took three steps out before a manly hand grasped my wrist and pulled me to a stop.
The smell was everywhere. My mate turned me around and I got my first look at him.
To say I was surprised would be an understatement. I had never been so attracted to a ginger before.
He broke all stereotypes. He was tall and masculine but had freckles splashed all over his face. Even on his lips but that didn't make him unattractive. It made me want to kiss him. His hair was tussled and a bright orange. His eyes were hazel and green and looking at me in surprise.
I realized that we were both checking each other out and tried to step away before he decided to mark me or kiss me or something. However he tightened his grip and let his gaze travel down then back up to my face.
"You masked your scent didn't you?"
