Emilia stepped on the gas pedal as soon as the time barrier broke down. The car travelled way faster than usual, going at about two hundred kilometres per hour. Conor sat next to Emilia while Cert, Ermine, Faerite and Joy were all cramped at the back seat. In Emilia's opinion, Cert was the fattest among everyone in the vehicle. Emilia kept her eyes on the road, like how Derek would, and made an effort to make all distractions useless to her, like how Derek would. And that she wouldn't follow anyone's instructions unless they gave her a reason, somewhat like how Derek would. Oh, man. She was referring to Derek too much. She needed to stop it and focus on the road.

The road was boring; with a single line that branched out to whatever place you wanted to go to. There were a few cars that had come and go. Some were fancy and some were ancient.

Emilia sighed with extravagant boredom as she drove the car. She was the only person that wasn't scared to go high-speed. Everyone else had their eyes widened and worries in their hearts.

"You know, Emilia," Joy said. "I think you're going too fast!"

"Nonsense," Emilia replied. "In fact, I'm not going fast enough!"

Emilia applied more pressure on the gas pedal and the car moved accelerated faster than ever. Faerite shrieked as a response, causing Emilia to slow down a bit.

"Too scared for you, Faerite?" She said, while looking at the road.

"I agree with Joy. You are going too fast," Faerite said, but with hesitance.

"We're just near the next hospital. Is Ermine bleeding that badly?"

Ermine still had his hand over his wound, but he didn't say anything, since he treated Emilia like a demigod. Or a god. Emilia didn't know which one. It was a good thing and a bad thing at the same time. The good thing was that Ermine would protect her with his life if Emilia commanded him to do so, and that Ermine wouldn't hurt her, with the addition of her friends if she told him not to hurt them. But the bad thing was that it made Ermine a bit crazy and insecure at times. For now, he didn't say anything crazy. All he did was look into her friends' eyes with revenge and look into Emilia's eyes with fear and a bit of respect, mostly fear. Conor told her this before.

Even with the good stuff, she wouldn't want Ermine to sacrifice himself for something as miniscule as getting a slight injury. She wasn't one to enslave people. So, she treated Ermine like one of her friends now.

"I'm pretty sure he is," Cert said. "Even the seat is getting red."

"Oh, no. It's alright. It's just my car," Conor said, with a sarcastic tone. "Nothing bad will happen to me. Oh, no. The police won't come to check and see the blood there. They'll just say it's red paint, even after checking its composition. Sure, thanks for saving Ermine, Cert."

From the corner of her eyes, she saw Conor lay back and sighed deeply. She let out a breath of humour instead of a chuckle or a laugh while grinning. After seeing plain building after plain building, she finally saw the next hospital, painted white everywhere, with a gigantic sign on top that had a red cross with equal length at each part. Outside the hospital, there were cars parked just in front of small wooden fences that were painted white. Emilia drove through the entrance and stopped Conor's car just in front of the entrance of the hospital.

"Get Ermine out. I'll park the car," Emilia instructed.

Conor, Cert, Joy and Ermine got out. Joy helped out Ermine by supporting Ermine all the way into the hospital, although she had an injury herself, while Cert and Conor just followed them. There was supposed to be one more person who should have gotten out.
