Yo guys I'm writing another book called 'Hounds of war' it's a bit more developed but quite similar, you might wanna check it out, toodles
Love, hope, fear and faith, these are the qualities that make up humanity.
Light was streaming in threw the windows, blinding rays. A voice, oceans away broke through, calling me, it was time to go back. I didn't want to go back, it hurt too much. The voice louder this time, dragging me back. "WAKE UP!" A book slammed on my table and i shot up. "About time Mr. Kingston." I cringed at the name, too many bad memorise because of that name, too much pain. " Since you have finally graced us with your presence, you can grace me further with a detention after school." I groaned. This was not good. I don't think i could take anymore. Not after last night. "Please," i begged " can't i do it during lunch?!" He looked at me with a glint in his eyes. Oh god. "I tell you what if you solve this equation by the end of the week, i will let you off the detention and," he paused, he was enjoying this way too much for it to be good " i will give you a automatic A in my class." My mouth hung open, no more long boring math problems, no more suffering through his lessons getting picked on. I knew it wasn't going to be easy because he hated me and would of never of given me the chance if he wasn't certain i would fail. "On one condition!" My heart dropped. "If you do not give me the equation by..." He looked at his watch, "3:30, you will have detention every day, for a month. Would you like to take me up on my offer?" I didn't even think i would skip all my lessons to work this out, if i had to, i couldn't be late tonight. "Yes." He laughed and the bell went. Oh god i slept through most of the lesson. It felt like seconds, i hated it but i knew i would do it again. I loved sleep too much.
I was shattered. I didn't sleep much last night, my ribs ached a dull ache every time i breathed. I couldn't move for the first couple of hours, i just laid there, starring up at the mouldy celling. It was dotted with small black spots, the signs of dampness. My parents never really cared much for anything except drugs and alcohol.

Flashback:
I rolled over and saw the foot coming towards me, i tried to curl up in a ball again but i was too slow. The boot connected with my chest, i heard a sickening crack. All the breath was knocked out of me, i rolled onto my back gasping for breath, the man beating the crap out of me took this as a opertunity to bring his foot down on my stomache. I was in so much pain i couldn't move. The mans face came into view as he looked at my pained face. My fathers face. His eyes were filled wish disgust, he spat on me. "You are nothing, you are a piece of shit. I wish we never had you. You are a mistake. One that if i could turn back time, i wouldn't make it again! Did you hear me?" He came in my face and shouted "YOU ARE A FUCKING PEICE OF SHIT! ITS ALL YOUR FAULT! ITS ALL YOUR FUCKING FAULT!"
End of flashback

I walked into my English class and took a seat in the middle, i took out the math problem and sighed. It looked hard.
