The weekend consisted of me and Ashton having constant movie marathons and talking shit about Calum to try and cheer me up, it worked until the part I remembered I had to see his face again today. And that didn't help one bit.
Walking into school without Ashton was probably the hardest bit, he caught the flu yesterday. So I was left alone today to face my asshole ex.
I checked my timetable and had double math. With Calum. For two hours.
I went to my locker to collect my books and I saw a familiar figure staring at me from across the hall, with a black jumper, hood up and sunglasses. Calum. He looked like as if he were broken.
He stared at me for a couple of more seconds and wandered away. I slammed my locker and ran toward him.
'Cal?' I caught up with him and turned him around so he faced me.
'I thought you never wanted to see me again.' He said quietly. I took of him glasses and put his hood down. He was broken. He had cuts and bruises along his strong jawline. Along with his red puffy eyes which signalled to me that he has clearly been crying.
'Calum...' I inspected his face, running my fingertips over his jawline.
'I'm sorry. I truly am. I thought you and Ashton were a thing, you didn't like me anymore. I had to get my mind off things. And she was right there. I'm sorry Adrienne. I thought I could live without you but I couldn't. I just love you too much to let you go right now. Please can we start again and I will love you forever. Please.' By the time he said this, he was holding my arms and pleading with watery eyes.
'Calum, I need to think-' I tried to say.
'Please, Adrienne. I need you.' He begged and begged.
'It hasn't only broken you Calum; do you think I'm holding up fine? I feel like I've just lost half of my heart and I think I need time to myself. I need time to think and I think you should too.' I looked at him straight in the eyes. I feel incredibly guilty; I should've just gotten back together with him.
He nodded and walked away from me, his pace was fast yet slow.
Tears were threatening to jump from my eyes, so I went to the toilet to freshen up before class.
I walked through the empty hallways which meant I was late for first period, I never heard the late bell though.
As I walked into class, there was only one seat left and it was next to Luke.
'Adrienne, reason for tardiness?' Sir said loudly as I entered the room.
'I went to the toilet sir.' I smiled to try and not get myself into a detention.
'Invalid excuse Miss Flynn, break detention-' He tried to say.
'What if I was to tell you I had a female emergency? Would that give me a detention?' I am not in the mood for this.
'Just sit down, oh that's convenient. You can get along with your tutor more.' He sarcastically said.
I sat down next to Luke and he instantly made fun of me.
'On your period are we?' The boy smirked at me.
'Can you shut up just for one second?' I snapped. Hard enough I had to go through Calum today, now him?
'Alright, alright. I hope that tampon didn't get your pants in a twist.' He snickered and his Australian accent was showing at this point.
'I'm not even on my bloody period, so did you want to shut the fuck up or do I have to make you?' I quietly screamed.
