I slowly pulled myself away from my customer's arms and slipped back on my clothing. I would just take a shower when I got back to my dorm room. I slipped the thousand dollars into my back pocket and smiled. I now had enough to go get some new supplies for art. I quickly slipped out the dark room into the gray dawn and shivered slightly. I needed to start carrying a jacket since it was almost winter.
I made my way to my dorm room without a single sound and slowly opened up my door. I silently tiptoed in seeing Jack wrapped around Dakota. I was hoping they were serious so there would be zero drama later on. I quickly closed the bathroom door behind me and took a hot shower.
The hot water scorched my skin for only a moment then my muscles relaxed and I sighed with relief. I seriously hated my job; my clients just became too attached. I scrubbed away the disgusting ghost of their touch until I was turning slightly red then turned off the water. I dried myself, wrapped a towel around my waist, and walked out to get some clothes. Dakota glanced up to see me. I placed a finger to my mouth telling him to be quiet. He nodded and went back to sleep.
After changing into something clean I tossed my old clothes into the garbage. I just didn't like re-wearing clothes I wore to a job. I stuck fifty dollars into my wallet and stuck the rest into my hiding spot and walked off to my first class.
"Why did I even chose chemistry?" I grumbled to myself as I stared at the sheet of paper in front of me. Who the fuck gives a fifty question fill in the blank quiz about a stupid periodic table? Sure, we were supposed to know it before we even came here, but I was like a gold fish, three laps around that little fish tank and it was all gone. Only my instincts helped me in art, after that it was all just luck. I wrote down the first twenty that I knew from heart. Thank god for my high school chemistry teacher and her stupid songs. I tapped my pencil viciously on my table as I thought about the other ones. Why did they have to be in order too? I quickly scribbled down a few and left the rest of the test blank. I'd rather just fail with grace.
I quickly tossed my quiz on the desk (faced down) and stormed out the room frustrated. Next semester I would chose another class instead of chemistry. I pulled out my cell phone to see what time it was and held back a frustrated scream. It had only been thirty minutes! I still had an hour to go. I looked through my messages to see that I had two job request, I looked through my email to see that my mom had sent me something and decided to actually take the time to read it.
Dear Adi,
Are you going to come over for Christmas? Tell me so I can know if I need to make food for you. Also, Jenna misses you and says that you're still her fairy. How are you and your boyfriend? Tell me if he is coming over also. If you're not coming over then make sure to tell me so I can just send you money in the mail. Sorry I can't give you more, but you know what has been happening with your father and all. He still hasn't woken up, but they say that he's not getting any worse. Please call us every once in a while. We want to know how your life's been going.
Love,
Mom
I quickly sent her a reply saying I was coming over. I haven't seen them since last year during spring. I closed my phone feeling a little better but a little heavyhearted. I had never told them I had broken up with that jerk. I stood up and walked out of the building and off the campus. I needed to go buy some more clothes.
Twenty minutes of looking around in several different stores and I couldn't find a worthy pair of skinny jeans or a decent looking shirt from the men's department. I eyeballed the junior's section for girls and sighed. Skinny jeans are skinny jeans no matter if they have rhinestones on the back. I found a perfect pair of dark rinse jeans and when I turned them over I almost fainted. Why hearts? I chewed my lip nervously and sighed. Lena and Valentin will torture me... but it's better than nothing. I went to the dressing room to try on the few pairs of jeans that I had decided on. I smiled at myself for being so slim for a girl.
"Are you wearing girl jeans?" Lena turned me around and started to laugh. "Love the hearts." I sighed and and glanced over at Valentin to see him covering his face to hide a smile.
"All the guy stuff looked ugly..." I pulled away and sat on the far end of the park bench. Lena finally stopped laughing and smiled.
"Couldn't find a matching sweater?" I felt my face growing warm with embarrassment. I should have prepared myself better for the torture.
After fifteen minutes of Lena's nonstop talk about my "cute" girl jeans we finally went out for lunch. This time we went to Chili's where I could eat more than just french fries. I made Lena pay for my food again since she was bullying me earlier and made sure to get something yummy.
"Hi, my name is Kally and I'll be your waitress for today. Can I get you something to drink?"
"Just a coke." Lena sighed.
"Same." I added.
"Water with a lemon, please." I glanced up at Valentin. Kally walked off to go get our drinks and I raised an eyebrow.
"Water? Are you feeling sick?" Valentin just rolls his eyes and starts to tap his fingers.
"Oh not you too!" Lena sighed dramatically and closed her eyes.
"Fine. I'll just pay for my lunch. You don't have to be all moody."
"And that's all that I ask for." She opened her eyes and smiled at me in victory. Twenty points for Lena, two for Adison... this wasn't looking good.
"Are you ready to order?" I looked at the menu and asked for chicken fingers. "You mean the Chicken Crispers?
"You say Chicken Crispers and I say chicken fingers." I held the menu out for her to take and rested my chin in my hand.
"Grilled salmon."
"The sirloin steak."
I carried the left over food that I had left in my bag and slowly walked back to my dorm room. Today I had failed a chemistry test, skipped art class, had to pay for my lunch, and accepted an offer. The day was complete and the night would start. I actually liked wearing these jeans so I had decided to change pants so I wouldn't have to throw these away.
I walked into my room to see Jack sleeping in his bed. Did he stay here the entire day? I walked past him and stuffed the bag into our mini fridge and grabbed a pair of jeans to change into.
"Going to go do another job?" I turned to see Jack still turned away from me.
"What?" I quickly zipped my pants and walked to the bathroom to fix my hair and stuff.
"You know... the jobs you do at night... Adi." I turned back to him quickly and frowned.
"I don't know what you're talking about."

I decided to leave it at that instead of making this incredibly long. Who knows what will happen next... well except me.
