Jonathan laid there, as still as possible to not wake Evan, thinking about everything. His thoughts were scattered everywhere and he was trying to gather them in one place. What was he doing? He was laying here with the guy he's liked for how many years now?

Part of Jonathan knew that he should move Evan away from him because all Evan was subconsciously doing was making him fall deeper in love. Jonathan began to fidget.

"Mph." Evan rolled off of Jonathan and onto the surrounding grass. Jonathan immediately shot up and reached for his safety net and thought clearer; cigarettes. He quickly popped one in his mouth and lit it, taking a big puff.

"What the fuck are you doing, Jonathan?" Jonathan whispered to himself, running a hand through his curly hair, straightening out the curls for them to spring right back into place. Before he knew it, he had finished the cigarette, but his thoughts weren't any more organized.

Evan was turning his world upside down and he didn't even know he was doing it. Jonathan knew that he shouldn't allow himself to attach to Evan this much, but he knew he was terrified and Evan could be his protector. They were almost out of jail, after all, and he knew damn well that a piece of paper saying 'stay away from Jonathan Denis' wasn't going to stop them.

Jonathan shut his eyes to try to stop the tears. Just a second ago he had been on Cloud 9, a boy who could fly. Now it seemed almost impossible to slow the hot tears that streamed down his face as he lit another cigarette. Soon enough, his body shook with soft sobs. Evan stirred quietly, opening one eye to locate Jonathan. He sat up after seeing Jonathan's frail body shaking. His nose crinkled as he smelt cigarette smoke, but he crawled over to Jonathan, sitting next to him.

Evan and Jonathan both looked forward in silence with nothing but the occasional sound of Jonathan's sobs breaking through. Jon left his finished cigarette fall out of his grip. Evan lifted an arm and wrapped it around Jon's small body, pulling him close. Every nerve in Jonathan's body screamed to move away, to not let Evan break his walls, that he'd worked so hard to build, down. Yet his heart screamed for him to allow Evan in. Evan decided to break Jonathan's thoughts.

"We'll sit like this as long as you need until you decide to tell me what's going on. Take however long you need. I'll be here." That's when Jonathan's walls broke.

He told Evan about Vik and Mikel and how they beat him up a lot when him and Luke were in high school. He told Evan about how one day they came at him with a knife and carved V & M into his abdomen and broke his nose. Then it came time for the hard part. Evan sat in shock as Jon revealed that the two boys had been in jail since their junior year of high school for beating up Jon so badly that he had to go through therapy to walk again. Jon took a deep breath before continuing.

"That wasn't all they did." Evan snapped his head toward Jon.

"They did more to you?" Jon nodded.

"I told you that they beat me so badly with a crowbar that a had to relearn how to walk again. But they beat my legs so I couldn't move away from them when they raped me. I was openly gay and everyone knew me in high school because of my eyes. I guess they just didn't like me because I was gay and girls still openly liked me. However they made sure that I knew I was trash and I was a failure. They made sure I knew that I was ugly and would always be alone forever. The only reason I'm crying about it and why it's really heavy on my mind right now is because they get out of jail in a week, both of them. And to say that I am petrified of them would be an understatement." Jonathan shook his head, wiping his tears. Evan frowned at the small boy.
