i'm confused by how josh arranged his victims in his prank

like, some didn't exactly get what they deserved (not including the wendigo attacks).

characters involvement with hannah's prank (from most to least)

• jessica (assuming it was mainly her idea)

• sam (and she didn't even want to be part of it)
• chris (assuming him being passed out drunk wasn't part of the plan)

and here's their involvement in josh's revenge prank from what the game showed, at least (from worst experience to 'best')

can someone please explain why josh's best friend had to 'kill' one of his friends and then later 'kill' another or himself despite being passed out for the duration of the prank on hannah? why did the sweet girl who's easily scared have her friend's 'blood' sprayed on her, and experience a bunch of freaky ghost encounters and finally witness her crush shoot her or himself right in front of her despite being a simple onlooker of the prank? why did the caring and considerate girl get chased in a towel by the 'killer' thinking she was going to die despite playing a very small part of the prank (which she didn't even want to be part of anyway)? why did the people who actually played big parts in the prank on hannah get almost NO involvement with josh's prank? like, seriously, josh, give it to those who deserve it.
