Two Pieces

Fair Rides

I walked towards the large amusement park behind Ed. The lights were blinding and the sounds were loud. Ed looked around for any signs of our friends. I bit my lip and gripped my forearm.

"There they are!" He smiled and grabbed my hand, pulling me towards our group.

"You're here!" Andie squealed and hugged Ed.

"Where's Luke?" He asked.

"I think getting me some food...." She peered over at me and smiled.

"Alright let's have some fun!" She yelled while gripping onto my other hand. I just realized my hand was still in Ed's. He didn't seem to notice so I just shrugged it off and kept it there.

"Uh-uh no way! I'm not riding that!" I looked up at the Freak Out. It was like a claw and swung you all the way upside down mutiple times.

"Stop being a baby! Come on!" Emma pushed me forward.

"Ticket please" I hesitatnly gave him my ticket and crawled into one of the seats. Emma sat to my left while Ed and Andie sat to my right. Zayn and Talia were off somewhere else doing who knows what. Niall was off getting food and so was Luke.

I pulled the safety gaurd over my chest and gripped tightly onto the handles. My knuckles turned white and I squeezed my eyes.

"The ride hasn't even started yet.." I heard a low voice whisper into my ear. My eyes shot open.

"I know, I just don't like rides like these..." 

"Here," He held out his hand and I gripped onto it tight. His touch made my blood warm and my cheeks slightly redden.

Three...Two.... One...beeep

The ground started to get a distance away and I squeezed onto Ed's hand tightly. I'm sure my grasp became pretty sweaty from how nervous I was. I fely my stomach drop as we descended quickly and rose back up. It increased it's distance from the ground and pretty soon we were upside down.

"OK. OK. OK.OK.OK. OK. OK. OK!" Emma yelled with her  mouth wide open.

"Omg. I'm going to die! Get me off of this ride!" I screamed while wailing my free arm around.

"Calm down!" Ed squeezed my hand and laughed.

"WOOOOAAAAAH!!!" Andie screamed at the top of her lungs, "This is amazing!"

"Are you crazy!" I peered over at her.

The ride swung down quickly and I gripped onto the handle bar tighter. My stomach dropped and a highpitched scream escaped my lungs. It swung back and forth, slowly stopping. When it stopped I quickly jumped out of my seat.

"Never. Again." I gasped. Ed laughed and got out of his seat.

We walked off the ride and took a breather.

"Alright, let's go find everyone else" Andie said while standing up straight. I nodded and followed her and Emma.

We found Niall eating a funnel cake near a hot dog stand.

"Jeez, getting a little fat there" I laughed and patted his stomach.

"Hey!" He rubbed his belly and threw the now empty plate away.

"Where's Luke?" Andie asked.

Niall shrugged. Andie sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose.

"I swear sometimes..." She breathed out a shaky breath and walked forwards a bit. I finally saw what she must have seen. Luke was hitting on some girls near the game areas. He handed her a giant teddy bear that he obviously won.

Ed followed Andie, trying to stop her from exploding in his face. But I saw how angry she was and honestly, the best thing to do right now is let her curse him out. And that's exactly what she did. 

All you could hear was, "BASTARD! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU! GET OUT OF HERE YOU SKANK! THIS IS MY BOYFRIEND! WELL ES-BOYFRIEND THANKS TO YOU. SCRAM. AND YOU! DID YOU FORGET ABOUT ME? YOUR GIRLFRIEND? YOU BETTER HAVE A GOOD ASS EXPLANATION FOR THIS!"

"Andie, calm down. I was just being nice..." He wrapped his hand around her shoulder. Ed flinched a little at the sight of seeing him toucher her. They had a very close relationship. It was almost as if they were actually brother and sister.

"BEING NICE?! OH MY.... LUKE, WE ARE DONE! DO YOU NEED ME TO SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND? D-O-N-E! HAVE FUN WITH THAT SKANK. I COULD CARE LESS!" She started to walk away but he grabbed her arm. He mumbled something to her and she slapped him, hard. He turned his head back to her and smacked her right across the face. You could see she was breaking out in tears. Ed's face had anger written all over it. His biceps were flexed and his jaw was clenched. I grabbed his hand, stopping him from walking over there. I knew he was going to beat the hell out of that boy. He shook my grip off and walked over to them. He yanked Luke off of Andie and hit him right in the face. Luke went tumbling to the ground, holding his nose.

"You don't hit a girl" He spit at him.

Ed turned around and pulled Andie back up. Luke stumbled back up and chuckled deeply.

"Think your so tough?" He swung his arm and hit Ed in the back. A small scream escaped my lips. 

Ed turned around and hit him in the gut. Luke returned the favor with a hard blow to his ribs, causing Ed to scream out slightly. He quickly redeemed himself by knocking Luke off his feet and tumbling down on top of him, hitting him over and over again. Andie tried to pull Ed back but she had no luck. Niall, Emma, and I ran over to help break up the fight. Niall was pulling Luke out of the fight and Emma was yelling at Ed. I quickly interfered and grabbed Ed's hand. He looked up at me and his expression turned from anger and hatred to sadness and guilt. My eyes were glossy but I wasn't crying. Ed looked back and forth from Luke to me. I slightly pulled him off. He finally got off of Luke and stood up, leaning a bit. When he tried to stand he moaned and grabbed his side where Luke had hit his ribs. I wrapped his arm around my shoulder and wrapped my own arm around his back, helping him stand. 

"We should probably see if you broke something..." I said while touching the hurt area. The bones felt slightly out of place.

"I can take him to the hospital in his car. We'll meet you guys there" I said. They all nodded and Niall helped me get Ed to his car.

"I don't think I need this much help" Ed muttered, obviously not liking the fact that he looked weak.

"Ok, just a few broken ribs and a scratched up face along with some bruises" The doctor stated, "No more fights." 

Ed nodded and thanked the doctor. I was sitting in the chair the whole two hours. Everyone else was outside. Andie didn't want to deal with Ed right now so she went home. 

"I still won that fight..." He grinned.

"Yeah, but you did injure someone and you are in the hospital" I said yawning.

"Yeah...." He rubbed the back of his neck.

I nodded and slowly got up, stretching out my back.

He patted on a spot next to him on the examining bed. I sat next to him and yawned.

"We should probably get you home..." He said while grabbing my hand and intertwining our fingers. I had to bite down hard on my bottom lip in order not to smile.

"Yeah, my mom's already going to kill me..."

"Sorry..." 

"It's fine" I rolled my head back.

It was silent for a little while.

"Thanks for staying..." He said while smiling.

"No problem. I just wanted to make sure you were ok."

He chuckled a bit and kissed the top of my knuckles gently. My cheeks flushed and I smiled. Gosh, why did he make me feel this way.

"Come on, everyone's waiting outside..." I jumped off of the bed and pulled him out of the room. When everyone saw them they all sighed and smacked him upside the head. Eventually they hugged him and started asking questions. I just stood there, admiring all the support they all had in each other.
