Two Pieces

Just Us

I stroked the clear nail polish on top of my nail.

"Oh I love this song!" Andie excalimed while jumping off of the bed and turning the radio up.

She danced around the room while I sat back and laughed at her dance moves. Her eyes darted towards me and she grinned while holding her hands out, moitioning me to get up and dance. I shook my head and sighed as I stood up. She grabbed my arms and yanked them around.

"Just let loose, Jenna!" She shouted out over the radio. I leaned my head back and laughed as I jumped around the room.

I plopped down on the bed next to Andie, panting and sweating. We had just literally danced around my room for the past 30 minutes. I looked over at her and saw her making a weird face at me. I laughed and placed my hand on my abdomen, trying keep my sides from hurting so much. 

There was a soft knock on the door. We both snapped our heads around to see Ed standing in the doorway.

"Ed?" I asked while I propped myself up on my elbows.

"Hey, I didn't know you were here, Andie..." He mumbled and scratched his head,

"Uh yeah, i'm staying over for a while. My mom is visiting a friend..." She looked down at her hands. I raised an eyebrow at her. Why didn't see tell him about what happen? They were bestfriends. 

"Oh, cool..." He looked around the room.

"How'd you get into my house?" I asked.

"Your brother let me in..." He pointed at the door. My eyes widened. I completely forgot he was coming to visit from college.

I pushed past Ed and ran down the stairs. My eyes widened as I saw my older brother, Dylan, in the kitchen. He turned around, his cheeks full of food. 

"Hey Jens!" He opened his arms wide as I ran into them. I squeezed his chest tight and smiled.

"You have no idea how much I missed you!" I yelled out.

"Oh, I think I do.." He barely squeezed out as he gently pushed me back a bit.

"You have anything new to tell me?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Not really, just made some new friends?" I sat up on the counter.

"So that ginger is just a 'friend'?"

I scoffed and shook my head, "Shut up, Dylan!" 

He laughed. There were loud thumps, signalling that Andie and Ed were running down the stairs. Andie popped into the kitchen with the biggest smile.

"Hi, i'm And-" She was about to introduce her self to my brother but she quickly shyed away as he turned around. Dylan's face faded but quickly returned to normal.

"Is everything okay?" I asked while hopping off the counter.

"Uh yeah. I'm Andie!" She quickly saved and shook Dylan's hand.

"Okay..."

"I'm Ed.." Ed quickly chimed in before anyone else could bud in.

"So when did you get back?"

"Erm I don't know maybe eleven last night?" He said while he grabbed some bread for a pb&j sandwhich. 

"And you didn't come and say hi?" I acted like I was hurt.

His nose scrunched up and he stuck his tongue out. I laughed and walked towards the livingroom. Ed and Andie followed me. Andie sat next to me and Ed sat next to Andie.

"Why are you here again?" I turned towards Ed.

"Oh I just had to talk to you about something..."

"Well we can talk now if you want?"

"Oh no, it's fine. Andie helped me out."

Andie nodded with a cheeky smile. I nodded and bit my lip, turning my attention back to the T.V. 

*Ed's POV*

Jenna's eyes widened as I said her brother. I raised an eyebrow and she ran past me. All you could here was her tiny feet, softly pounding down the stairs.

"So why are you here?" I heard Andie asked. My head snapped around to look at her.

"Why are you here?" 

"I told you, my mom is visiting a friend..." Her eyes flickered down, indicating that she was lying.

"Andie, I know that you're lieing..."

"Ed, just let it go okay?" Her eyes narrowed. I raised my arms up to surrender. I knew well enough that argueing with Andie was going to help me find out why she was here. She was always so stubborn, which can be a really good thing.

"So why are you here?" She patted the bed. I sat down next to her and ran my hands over my face.

"I just wanted to talk to Jenna.." 

"Why?" She sounded a little too excited.

"I was just going to ask her if she wanted to go to the Music Festival with us tomorrow since we have the day off of school. Don't get too excited.."

She sighed and nodded, "I already asked her."

"And?"

"Oh yeah, she's going.."

I nodded and stood up. Andie and I walked down the stairs. Jenna was sitting on the counter talking  while her brother was making some food. 

"Hi, I'm And-" Andie's voice trailed off as she made eye contact with Jenna's brother. I noticed his face lose color but quickly return to it's normal color.

"Is everything okay?" Jenna asked while hopping off the counter and making her way over to us.

"Uh yeah! I'm Andie!" 

"Uh okay..."

"I'm Ed" I quickly budded in before anything else could happen. 

Jenna and Dylan talked for a bit before she lead us over to the livingroom. I sat next to Andie and folded my hands together.

"Why are you here again?" Jenna looked at me.

"Oh I just had to talk to you about something..."

"Well we can talk now if you want?"

"Oh no, it's fine. Andie helped me out." 

She bit her lip and turned her attention back to the t.v.
