"I'm back!" I called out with the only breath I had left. I had just ran about five miles and was panting pretty hard.

My mom peered around the kitchen wall and smiled when she saw me. She had a bowl in one hand and a mixer in the other. I slipped my shoes off and joined her in the kitchen. There was flour flung everywhere.

"Uh mom..." She was frantically putting ingrediants into the bowl.

"Huh" She muttered out while reading the recipe.

"What are you doing?" I said while sitting down in one of the stools by the bar.

"Cooking"

I raised an eyebrow, "Cooking what?"

"I think these are cookie bars."

"You think?" I laughed and scooped some of the dough on my finger. I slowly put the squishy dough on my tongue, almost gagging at the taste.

"You don't like it?" Her face saddened.

"Oh no. It's great!" I smiled but as soon as she turned away I silently coughed.

"Where's dad?"

"Working late again."

I nodded. He's been working late a lot more often now. I wasn't very close for him but it still hurt not seeing him as much as I would like.

"So, are you ready for your first day tomorrow?"

I moaned. We moved about a month ago from Wisconsin all the way to London. Yes, I know, crazy. But my dad's work makes him go anywhere they need him.

"Can I just stay home?" I pouted.

"Of course not. You have to go."

I moaned and leaned my head back.

"I know, i'm sorry. But maybe you can get a friend."

"I have a friend..." My head shot back up.

"Yes, maybe back in Wisconsin but not here."

I rolled my eyes and jumped off of the stool.

"Where are you going?"

"To China."

"Jenna" Her voice had a hint of annoyance in it.

"What?" I mumbled.

"Attitude check."

I rolled my eyes and trotted up the stairs to my room.

"Attitude check" I mocked her and laughed before plopping down on my bed, barrying my face in my pillow.

Our love runs deep like a chevy,

If you fall i'll fall with you baby,

'Cuz that's the way you like to do it,

That's the way you like to do it,

You run around, open doors like a gentleman...

I ran my hand over my alarm clock until I felt the off botton. I slammed my hand on it and moaned into my pillow. First day of school. Just what i've been looking forwards to all summer.

I groaned and rolled my body out of the comfert of my bed. It was still dark out so it was hard to see. I felt the wall for the cold light switch and switched it on. The first thing I see is my hidous refelection. My hair was in tangles, my eyes were half way open, and my lips were cracked from the lack of moisture.
