Miranda's pov

I glare at my glasses annoyed. "I don't want to wear these." I gripe. Jason pulls them out of my fist before I break them. "If you want to go onstage with me, you have to wear them." He says, smiling. I sigh. I do want to go onstage.

Joe's pov

Ever since we got off recording, I've been thinking about the girl who we met that watches the show. Sal got us tickets to some concert in town so we're headed to that.

I reluctantly put on my glasses and grab a mic to do the duet with Jason. I'm shocked to Dee the jokers front row. Joe is staring right at me, making me nervous. I hate these glasses. I'm such a freak in them. Tears form in my eyes. I tear them off and throw the mic taking off with Jason calling me. I don't stop though. I keep running until I reach a wall. I sit down in front of it and cry my eyes out. Jason finds me a second later. "Hey, what was that about?" He asks, sitting beside me. "I can't wear those glasses." I mumble. He sighs. "Why don't you go to the bus and sleep. I'll finish the show." He says, a hand on my shoulder. "I'm sorry Jay, I messed the whole show up." He shakes his head. I walk back to the bus. I throw the glasses. I hear someone clear their throat. I squint in the darkness. "Who's there?" I gasp, backing up. "It's just me." Joe says. I'm a little surprised. He walks into the light with a smile and my glasses in his hand. My cheeks flush with color. "H-Hey Joe." I mumble, looking away. He pulls my chin up and puts my glasses on my face. "I hate my glasses." I grumble, looking away. He turns my head toward him again. "I think they make you look adorable." He says, a hand on my cheek. My whole body burns in embarassment. I don't think he even notices. I swear he's about to kiss me when I hear Jason yell. Uh oh. "Hey what do ya think you're doing!?" We quickly pull apart. "I'm guessing a boyfriend." He whispers. I can't help but laugh. "What'd he say?" Jason asks, angrily. "He thought you were my boyfriend!" I gasp, laughing uncontrollably now. Jason's face gets really red. "Ok, what'd I miss here?" Joe asks. I turn around to him. "Joe, this is my brother Jason. I've been on tour with him. He's a little overprotective." Jason glares at me. "So who are you?" He grumbles. "My name is Joe Gatto. Member of the tenderloins comedy troupe and impractical joker." "You'll be happy to know Joe in my opinion is the most gentlemanly of the four." Jason still eyes him suspiciously. "Go wait in the bus." He orders. "You better leave him-" "NOW!" I sigh and go to the buses.

Her brother looks pissed. "I could tell you were about to kiss my sister." He says. "Yeah, so." His eye twitches in anger. "Listen here Yankee, you hurt my little sister, I'll hurt you! You hearin' me?" He growls, grabbing my shirt. "Not to worry." I reply, pulling his hand off. "Hey pal, is there a problem over here?" I hear Q's voice. "Who are those clowns?" Jason mutters turning around. "Don't call me clown, mustache." Q says, making us all laugh. I roll my eyes. "Did I miss something?" He asks. "Just ask Miranda. She knows all about that bit, I bet." He glares at Q a second more then turns around to me. "I'm watchin' you buddy. If you hurt her, I'll rip kick your ass faster than Chuck Norris in an action movie." He gripes, stomping away. "Lemme guess, you have a crush on the girl that was onstage." Murr says. I nod. "You know she's not staying." "Not unless I convince her." I reply, smiling.

Something isn't right about them. They're odd. "You weren't too hard on him, were you?" She asks as soon as I open the door. "Yeah I gave him the third degree." She throws her hands in the air. "See, this is why I can't find a guy!" She shouts. "Hey, I'm only lookin' out for ya. You don't know him at all!" "Yes I do! You don't know what you're talking about! Just mind your own damn business!" She yells, angrily. She walks off the bus, slamming the door behind her. I don't care if she's mad. I made sure he won't hurt her. I promised mom and dad three years ago when they passed away that I'd take care of her and that's what I'm gonna do.

"Sorry about him Joe." I say, jogging over. He smiles. "It's fine honey." "So this is your lover?" Q jokes. I laugh. "Shut up!" Joe gripes. He sighs and turns back to me. "I need three new best friends." He says. I smile. "I'd kill to have a friendship like yours." I say. He holds my hand, fixing my glasses with the other. "My brother didn't scare you too much did he?" I ask. He shakes his head. "I'm fearless remember." He says, kissing me. I'm so shocked but I kiss him back. Murr, Sal, and Q whoop and holler. I roll my eyes. "Would you uh like to go to dinner with me tomorrow?" He asks. "S-Sure." "Great. Ya think you're brother could drop you off?" I glance behind me where he stands on the steps, his arms crossed over his chest. I smile. "I'm sure he won't mind." "Good." He says, kissing me again. A few seconds later, I wave and walk back to the buses as the guys leave. "Well?" He asks. "Joe asked me out. Please don't be mad." "Oh I'm not. But I'm warning you if he hurts you in any way, I'll kill him. I don't tolerate assholes. You know that." He says. "He's not an asshole. Joe is different." He smiles and ruffles my hair. "Okay. Have fun tomorrow." I hug him. "Quick question. Why did the guy with the hat and long hair call me mustache?" He asks. I laugh hysterically. "You mean Q? That's his thing. Very first episode, they were in Costco and he was told to call a customer mustache so he did it and he called him a clown and it was just a funny little bit that became Q's trademark catchphrase." We go onto the bus and drive to a hotel where I fall asleep instantly.
