Chapter 4

Restless Night

That picture up there is an older version of Annalise, when she was 23, the previous picture in chapter 3 was when she was 15 years old.

For what seemed like ages, the hospital people and the police finally let me out, and they couldn't find my parents, you they brought me to like this foster home. My foster
parents were Mr and Mrs Smiths, who were really nice to me. They have two children, Bella and Becky, they are twins. I had a bedroom to myself, it was not big, but it was enough for me, at least, I don't have to be surrounded by the curious nurse and police who asked me a centillion questions.

I will be attending school next week, 4 more days until it starts. I will be going to the local high school, North Greenstown High School. I hope everyone would be nice, and I wish I could still meet the person who found me on the city square and thank him for finding me, or I would probably be dead by now. What's his name again? Sawyer Raine? Spence Raine? Spencer? Spencer Maine! That's right Spencer Maine! I smiled as I tidied up my room. There was a lot of work to do. They gave me some pretty clothes as I looked at them and put them down again. Even though it is eight years away, what will happen to me on the day I died in a car crash, will I died again? Live? Anything? That bought of the future scares me. I sighed and continued tidying up my new room when a knock on the door broke the silence.

"Can I come in?" A voice said, it was Mrs Smith.

"Yea sure!" I replied and put my clothes down and turned to the door. The door knob turned and she came in. She smiled and said.

"Wow, you are putting a lot of work on this!" She said. I smiled back and said yea.

"Dinner's ready Anna." She said and continued. "Be downstairs in time, we have a surprise for you!" She said and hurried downstairs before leaving me a quick smile.

Surprise?

That makes me want to go downstairs down. I put the things down and hurried downstairs after changing into some tidier clothes.

It was a big house. 6 bedrooms, 3 garages, 4 bathrooms and a gigantic swimming pool. Nice place!

I walked down the spiral staircase and approached the dining room and there was a big box out on the middle of the table. Bella and Becky were seated in their seats smiling at me, so was Mr and Mrs Smiths.

"Take a seat Anna." Mr smiths said. I did as I was told to.

It was kind of awkward but I was curious to know the surprise.

"Open the box!" Regina said, the older twin.

I slowly opened the top and inside, was a shiny black thing, it was a...

TV!

Okay, I was actually so excited. I've never had a TV to myself in my bedroom! I was so excited!!!!!!!

"Is this for me?" I squealed excitedly.

"Well, who do you think it is for? Of course it's you!" Mrs Smiths said.

I cupped my cheeks and jumped. "Oh... Thank you so much!" I thanked them and hugged Mr and Mrs Smiths.

"We want to give you something but we don't know what you like, so, we just bought a TV for you." They smiled at me.

"Just? You just bought a TV for me?" I questioned emphasising the word 'just'. "A TV is more than enough!" I cried happily. "You really don't have to do this!" I said.

"Yes we do! You are now a new member of our family! Oh and on more thing..." Mrs Smiths said as she exited the dining room and came back up with a uniform. "This is your new school uniform, North Greenstown High School, you can go with Bella and Becky."

I smiled and took it. That was so nice of them. What should I give in return? I will repay them one day.

"Thank you!" I said once again and ran upstairs to put things down.

Dinner was nice. We talked about funny things and Bella's and Becky's most embarrassing moments. It was hilarious.

The four days of staying at home passed by quickly and tomorrow was school. I was excited, but very nervous. Who knows if there will be nice people or mean ones, I will just follow the rules and be a good student.

Through the night, I had a lot of thoughts and dreams. I kept twisting and tossing, kicking my bed sheets. I felt so tired, but I couldn't fall asleep. My head hurts but I kept on thinking about how school felt like. It was good, as a fifteen year old, who has a twenty three year old IQ, high school would probably be easy, maybe I could try harder and maybe do something better with my life rather that my job when I was 23, working in different shops, as different people, sometimes being a worker in Baker's Delight, sometimes a photographer or sometimes a part time dance teacher teaching preschoolers. I didn't feel very happy about my life, but since my IQ didn't change and I was back to 15, I can work harder, and do something I liked better. I thought about school, a lot that evening. I felt so nervous and worried, I was never a confident person. I have a very normal life, I never asked for wealth, a limo, a mansion or to be famous, I just want to be happy, just simple happiness and a humble home with some nice people around me.

And finally, after midnight, I fell asleep. I don't know what is about to come, but let's just hope for a good day.

Well that's the end of chapter 4!

I like short chapters better than long ones. Okay, that's just an excuse for writing longer chapters, but anyway, I hoped you liked that. There are a lot of mistakes since this is unedited, but I will do that at the end.

There will be a lot to come in chapter 5. Annalise will be attending her new high school!
