Stormfire rolled after restless trying to wake up. Her dreams were haunting her.
In them a brown tabby cat sat with glazed eyes, claws unsheathed and teeth bared. This cat's fur was damp and the cat smelt of sickness.

"Help me...," the strange cat begged.

But Stormfire couldn't. She only stared with horror as the cat convulsed and went still. Then she woke up.

Stormfire jolted awake leaving the warriors den. Snowhawk who was on guard duty faced her with flattened ears. "Is everything okay?"

"Yes," Stormfire nodded. "I'm sorry I worried you,"

Snowhawk shook his head turning back to the camp entrance. Stormfire returned to the warriors den and curled up in her nest. As she drifted off again mist swirled around her and Stormfire spotted a young slender silver tabby she-cat with blue eyes.

Who is this?
Then Stormfire realised she recognised this cat, it was her Mother Silverstripe.

"Silverstripe!" Stormfire cried.

Silverstripe purred. "Stormfire I'd like you to meet two cats,"

Two tiny kits padded nervously from out behind Silverstripe. The first was a light gray tabby she-kit with blue eyes and the second a silver tomkit with yellow eyes.

"Stormfire these are your littermates Sagekit and Mistykit," Silverstripe explained. "They have watched you from Starclan,"

"Hello," Mistykit meowed nervously shuffling her tiny light gray paws.

Sagekit looked more confident as he lifted his chin. But his yellow eyes looked sad. "I have only one memory. I took a deep breath and breathed in Silverstripe's scent and Rockwillow's and Mistykit's though she was never born alive. Silverstripe named us as she buried us. We have watched you Stormfire. Living for all three of us,"

Stormfire felt grief as she gazed at them. "I'm sorry you never got to live the life of a clan cat," Stormfire faced Silverstripe next. "And I'm sorry I could not be raised in Riverclan,"

Silverstripe shook her head. "I am sorry for leaving you Motherless,"

"Our only regret is leaving you and Silverstripe," Mistykit told them.

"Have you seen what Rockwillow is doing?" Stormfire asked.

Mistykit and Sagekit exchanged a glance. Silverstripe's blue eyes filled with grief. "He never used to be this way,"

"Does anyone else know your my Mother?" Stormfire asked.

"Besides a kittypet no," Silverstripe replied.

Stormfire lifted her chin. "Well they should because I'm proud of my Mother and my littermates and I wouldn't want them to be any other cats,"

Mistykit and Sagekit's eyes lit up with joy. Silverstripe looked proud. As Stormfire's dream faded she lifted her chin higher.
I'm not ashamed of my Mother. Someday when the time is right I will tell the clans.
