her dreams
will tell you
a different story
than the one
spoken from her lips.
and her long tired sighs
will speak the opposite
of what her smiles say.
and if you look
long enough
you'll see
her slumped shoulders
and her chapped lips.
if you look careful enough
you'll see her brightness
her playfulness
her happiness
has slightly dimmed.
