Dawn couldn't sleep the rest of the night, every time she started to dose off, she heard that obnoxious faint beeping sound, no idea where its coming from..but shes grown use to it. She watched out the window until daylight. Most people would be groggy after a night of no sleep, but Dawn never felt to tired. Well except for after those dreams. In fact this is kind of a nightly routine for her.
She joined her parents down stairs.
"good morning lovelies." Dawn said cheerily.
Her father looked up from his book and smiled warmly.
"Good morning sweet heart."
She always loved talking to her dad. He always seemed so kind and gentle, he spent most of his hours with his nose in a book. He never shared though, he always told her he loved them and wanted to keep them from being damaged, even when she insisted she would be careful with them. He kept all of his stories in his study(in which she was not allowed)and the covers blank not to reveal any hint or clue to what the book was about. And anytime she asked what he was reading ,he would always just smile and say "something beautiful."
He didn't look anything like her or mother. He had brown hair, rimmed reading glasses and chocolate brown eyes. He always looked so peaceful, while mother always looked so on alert. Maybe that's what they see in each other?like ying and yang?
Dawn reached for the coffee pot when reality started to shift, oh no not again. Her consciousness swayed in and out as she clung to the side of the table. Her mother grabbed her shoulders to keep her from falling. She heard that stupid beeping sound again. Ever since the accident this happened quite often.
Mother said that the doctor says its because of lack of energy,or dehydration. But she took vitamins and drank water like a fish and these dizzy spells still happened. They usually only lasted a moment or to,but it was still very annoying. The beeping sound grew quieter and her vision became clearer until everything went back to normal. Every time one of these happened her parents gave her the same look. Her mother of fear and concern, and her father of pity and sympathy.
"I'm good now." She said reassuring her mother.
Her father smiled and returned back to his book while her mother gave her a faint smile, while her eyes were still filled with concern.
"I'm fine,really."Dawn assured her.
"But i have to go to class,I'll see you when i get home,i love you." She hugged her mom and dad and headed off to school.
