Drown

Chapter 3

               Dawn started her walk to school, taking in the scenery as she did. Her mind started to wander as she felt a pair of arms quickly wrap around her and kiss her on the cheek. She let out a gasp of shock. Dawn heard a familiar giggle and then she sighed with relief. She knew those lips and that laugh. She spun around.

"dammit Dustin you scared me!!"she said playfully.

    Her boyfriend of two years just smiled back at her. 

"I cant help it!! You're cute when your scared."

He kissed her and they continued there walk to school. 

         He had one arm protectively around her and was using his other to mess with his long strands of messy brown hair. She couldn't help but always stare at him,he was breath taking. She loved everything he hated about himself. From his messy untamed hair to his mismatched eyes, one shining an almost white dusty grey and one a deep blue. Under his grey eye he also had a decent sized scar, running from just below his eyebrow to almost his nose from a car accident he got a couple years back, Just a couple weeks before her drowning incident. 

   He noticed she was staring at him and he bit his lip,something he always did when he was nervous.

"You stop that." She said abruptly.

 He looked startled,"Stop what??"

 She paused for a second and then smiled at him.

"Being so damn cute."

   His fear instantly resigned as he playfully pushed her 

"You suck."

 "What it was my turn to scare you! And I know just how to scare you." She said messing with his hair.

     She knew about his anxiety, so she would never actually jump out and frighten him or anything of the sort. 

      Dawn was about to cross the road not paying attention to oncoming cars. Dustin who was still standing on the side walk quickly pulled her against him and looked her in the eye.

"You do know how to scare me, because my biggest fear is messing up and losing you."

      She smiled at him, shes always been so reckless, so clumsy, he was always there for her to keep her from harms way. Just as he was always anxious and insecure, she kept him calm and always knew just how to make him feel better.

    The girls never really understood why shes with Dustin, they would tell here theirs plenty more men that want her who are more "attractive" and confident. They all had very childish ways of thinking. She loved Dustin. It wouldn't matter if that wreck caused him even more damage, weather he lost a limb or his sight or his ability to walk,she would always love him for him. She loved him for his mind and his heart, not just his body. But hey, his body looked damn good too.

      Ever since his car accident he has had severe anxiety. Hes always had a little bit, but it got much more severe since the crash. She smiled and kissed him. Then she pulled away and whispered in his ear. 

"I love you."

 He smiled from ear to ear. 

"I love you too, Dawn."

Then they continued there way to school.
