100 days

One night I was scrolling through endless pages of tumblr when I came across this quote made by HpLyrikz that just made me think. What it said was: "I wanna date someone for a hundred days. Long distance or not. The reason why because, one stranger can or might be the one for you. Ask them out and say this before they give a respond back. "Lets date for only 100 days" Because 100 days is when you get to know each other finding your most deepest darkest secrets, & finding out your true feelings for one of another. You don't say I like you or I love you till you pass 100 days if your made for each other. 101 or longer days you can say those 3 words. If you don't want to date no more then it will be okay because you guys agree to date only for 100 days and break up. No feelings should be hurt."-HpLyrikz.

Day 1 June 10

It's the last day of my junior year in North Beach High, which is weird cause the closest beach is about 45 minutes away, but anyways I'm ¾ done with getting out of high school, scary but I'm ready to leave. High school has been pretty much a drag full of hard classes, jerk teachers, and no guys. It had to be since freshman year when I started crushing on Mason Stedman and I have barley even shared a conversation with him, yet I still liked him. He lived a few streets up from me also. I don't mean to be so typical but, he is a really nice guy, smart and funny. He is not the popular guy or the nerdy guy he is just in the middle I guess. He has dirty blond hair that fits around his head and eyes that looked like they could come from the water of the Caribbean. He is a few inches taller than me so about 5'8 or around there. I usually fall for the popular guy with the 6 packs and flippy hair, but for him it just works.

My alarm beeped at 5:45 am and for once I didn't press snooze. I could not wait to get to school even though I did have finals. I grabbed a pop-tart and got ready for school. Around 6:45 am I heard a honk outside and my best friend Ella was here to pick me up because I'm not allowed to drive till I'm 18. I walked outside onto the lightly dewed grass and above me the cloudless sky.

"Hey Jess!" Screamed Ella over the deserted neighborhood. How can she be so loud so early?

"Hey Girl," I responded as she pulled out of my driveway to go to the hell hole I call high school.

"Hey why so tired isn't today the day you've been waiting for since like forever?" questioned Ella.

Today was the day I planned to ask Mason to date me for 100 days but so many worries are going through my head.

"What if he says no?" I questioned

"But what if he say Yes!" she shoot back.

"Well you will find out soon enough." I said as we pulled into the student parking lot which was practically empty because of the 12th graders not having to take finials.

I jumped out of the car "ready" for the last day of school. Doubt was running through my head, and it was not about taking my History test. When I walked through the doors of North Beach High my heart was pumping, I was sure anyone could hear it. I was praying I wouldn't pass out or get a heart attack. Ella was practically dragging me through the hallways taking me to where Mason would be, even though I knew exactly where that was. Then, I saw him. He looked perfect wearing a blue Nike t-shirt, blue was definitely a good color on him. Right now he was not talking to any of his friends or anything so my friend just pushed me towards him. There I found myself struggling to keep myself from not falling in the presence of Mason.

"Ahh hi", he said. "Whats up Jess?"

I responded with, "Nothing much what about you.

"Nothing much I just can't wait till summer!"

I tried to fake a laugh but failed so I responded with "Yeah"

"So, I have a question...", I started with, "Will you go out with me..." He was about to answer when I cut in, "For 100 day?"

He kinda looked at me confused for a second or two and then responded with, "Why 100 days?"

I tried to recite the quote the best I could and said, "100 days is when you find out who the person is and stuff, and if after the 100 days are up and you want to break up then that would be ok...."

"Yes," He said, "I would like to go out with you for 100 days." He looked at me and gave me a small smile.

"Ok, great." I responded and gave him a smile back.

That's when the two minute bell rang; we exchanged a quick wave, and then walked in opposite directions to our classes. As I took the finial I don't think I could even concentrate on it, he said yes! After the 2 hours of testing I practically ran to Ella's car and told her the great news. We then went to Dairy Queen to celebrate Mason saying yes and for both of us finishing 11th grade.
