Day 5 June 14

I was still stuck inside and I hated it so much, the only thing to do in this house is listen to music, and to make it worst my phone died and I lost my charger.  My life is feeling claustrophobic.  The day dragged by slow so I just called it a night at 7 pm.  I woke up with a start around 9pm and heard a noise coming from my window I pulled up the shade and there was Mason.  Thankfully I live on the bottom floor and there is no screen in one of the windows so I was able to leave the house easily.

“I came here to bail you out of jail.” Stated  Mason, “I’ve missed you.” He said with a smile.

“Aww thanks I’ve missed you too.” I said.

We went walking; I’m guessing it was to his house cause that was the direction we were going in.  I was right, we walked up to his driveway and through the front door and then I saw his mom.

“Hi, Mrs. Steadman.”  I said.

“Oh, Jess dear call me Nancy, I feel like I know you so well already.” She bubbled.

I was really confused how does she know me well already?  She must have seen my confused face and answered.  “My uncle used to be really close to your Dad by the way I’m very sorry for your lost, it must have been tough losing him at such a young age.”

“Thanks.”  I mumbled the tears glistening in my eyes.

“Ok mom me an Jess are going in my room see you tomorrow.” Mason cut in.

“Ok good night sweetie.” She said as she gave a quick peak on Masons cheek.  “And be good.”

Wow his mom is so cool, my mom would never trust me alone with some guy she is way to overprotective to be like that.  Sometimes I wish she was more like Masons Mom is, it seems like it would be a lot…better.

As we walked up the stairs to Masons bedroom I pasted by pictured of when he was little and his family, he really was a cute kid even at that age.  He leaded me into his room, it was a smallish room with dark blue paint, and a little walk in closet that was half open, there was a little bed neatly made in the corner of the room.  It was pretty clean but a little cluttered on the sides.

“It is not much, “Mason started, “but you haven’t seen the best part yet. “As he said this he opened up his window and you can see there was part of the roof that was flat.  He then climbed out onto the roof and gave me a hand as if to say follow me.

“This is the best place to see the stars,” he said as he laid down on the roof.  I laid down beside him and that’s when I got the first look at the stars.  It was a cloudless night and there was not even a moon in the sky, only billions of little stars that lit up the sky.

“There the big dipper,” He said as he pointed up.

            “Where?”  I asked.

He took my hand and held it up to show me where the starts connected to make the big dipper.

“Oh I see it now.”  I said thankfully I didn’t see it cause what Mason did was really…cute.  We laid there next to each other just in silence admiring the stars.

“Looking up at the stars just makes me feel so small in this world, like do you ever feel like the universe is so big but your just small?” I started suddenly

“I think about that a lot like how where here on this world, for what?  There has been millions of people before us, and there will be millions after were gone.  What makes anybody really special?” Mason started, “And I don’t even know if this makes sense but it’s just something I think about late at night.”

“I think about that a lot too.  And it really scares me thinking about it.  I think about how were all going to be gone someday, and who knows where.  It might just feel like I’m going to sleep and then I will never make up and that scares me.”

“Don’t be scared.” He said, then turned to face me and leaned in, and kissed me.  It was the kind of kiss that barley felt like one.  His lips just briefly touched mine when he went back to his original position looking up at the stars.  “There has never been anybody I could talk to like this and I know it’s only the 5th night out of 100 but I…”  he paused, “and now you have to fill in the blank cause it’s against the “rules”.”  He smirked and took a look at my smiling face.  He then grabbed my hand and kissed my hand softly.  After looking at the stars for a while in silence I rested my head on his shoulders and dosed off to sleep.
