Day 2 June 11

I woke up at 6:45, wow I must still be used to waking up at this time for school.  I woke up an decided to go for a run.  I decided to go to Hill Berry Park which is where all the sports fields were and stuff, there is a shortcut through the woods to get there.  As I was jogging past the baseball fields I saw someone I didn’t expect, Mason.  As I ran closer and he noticed me he gave me an inquiring look.  I exclaimed “I’m not stalking you I swear.”

He gave a smirk, “that’s what they all say.” He laughed, “ I’m just kidding.”

“I just love to go for runs in the mornings.”  I responded

“Yeah and I always come here to practice hitting, and you know you can join me if you want, we are dating.” Mason commented.

I smiled, “Ok I will.”

He gave me an extra glove and we threw the ball around for a little, and I must admit I was pretty good being a former softball player and all, and I could tell he didn’t expect it at all.  We talked a little bit about baseball teams; his favorite is the New York Yankees which is also mine.  Around here its either New York Yankees or Boston Red Sox because here in Rhode Island they are the closest to us.

“Do you want to take a break for a bit?” Mason asked.

            “Sure!” I responded

We went for a walk around the Pond and just talked about the summer and stuff like that, like me he was not going anywhere this summer.  That’s when I looked at my watch.

“Shit!” I exclaimed, “ I got to go my mom’s going to be looking for me!”

“Ok I will race you to the entrance!” he said as he already went running.

I was off I had no control over my legs, I was just going as fast as I could to catch up with Mason we were neck and neck when I saw the entrance of the woods.  With the little bit of energy I had left I tried to get in the lead.  I lost.  We both collapsed on the ground laughing.  Don’t ask why cause I don’t even know, it was just a good bonding moment I guess.  He then stood up gave me his hands and helped me pull myself off the ground.

            I smiled “Thanks.”

            “Anytime.”

He walked me back to my house  and then exclaimed he would see me soon.  As I walked into the house my mom was furious, “Where were you!?

“I just went for a run sorry it went late.”

“I was worried sick, you could have been killed!  Next time your gone for so long call for god sake!” She exclaimed.

            “Sorry.” I murmured.

She is so overprotective its annoying, I just went for a walk god!  To make it worst when I went to go hang out with Mason she would not let me out of the house.  What a great start to summer vacation.
