*kaydence's pov

I hate riding on horses, to much movement and noise.

We were making our way to my homeland we decided that we would help with any wars or conflict in the lands view or consideration. We received word from the palace saying that it would be best for the people to not know that I was part of the royal family. They said that it would help keep people off our tails for privacy and safety aswell as to ensure no people started to worry about the kingdom.

We were another days ride away for their territory the view was breath taking, large oak trees that held colourful birds aswell as a few roaming animals that seemed to stay out of our way,you could see where people would travel most, the grass being worn down to dirt and sand making the hooves from our horses making a scaring sound with every slow steady step.

"you know they won't realise it's you at first, right?" my master said snapping me out of my thoughts.

"yes master I know" i replied scanning the trees for any thing that could become useful to us.

"good" he replied, leaving me to my wondering thoughts.

What would happen if they didn't want me anymore? If I got there and they ignored me like the masters back home. Or if they had other children now or maybe they don't even want one child at all?

*the next day*

With their land looming closer than ever I needed to change into my uniform a black tunic with gloves that tied up like a corset, black pants with boots with a belt to carry my sword and dagger aswell as a hood that tied down to my shirt used to hide my face from the world.

As we rode through the gates you could make out the palace at the other side, made out of stone and wood with the family banner hanging from the roof.

On our left were some guards and on our right a stable occupied by brown and black horses eating and mucking around. Ahead was a large market place full of people laughing and talking.

We placed our horses in the care of a few stable men and walked forward observing all the kingdom had to offer. Some areas were a bit more crowded than others shops with clothes books and other items littered the pathways aswell as some houses with children playing with friends and running around.

We made our way to the palace with the help or a cheerful couple not hesitating to also find the bar and the training grounds.

As we made our way up the path towards the palace a few stares were thrown my way from a few elegantly dresses girls, which I assumed to be with the soldiers that were standing at the doors which they opened for us to step through.

The palace was stunning, chandeliers hung from the roof reflecting on the marble floor which looked like they were made from clouds. Pillars lined up on each side two extremely tall thrones were on the other side opposite the entrance. Doors were one both sides aswell as guards with swords, some of which were chatting amongst themselves.

"im glad to see you made it safe" as i turned around I saw the woman that gave me up for this land.
