Amy's POV:
I wandered through the halls of the TARDIS, hoping to find where the Doctor had sulked off to. After he found Scarlett's body, he and Rory put her in the med-bay and Rory started working on her immediately. I comforted the Doctor for a while, but after a few minutes he just left without a word. I've been trying to find him since. He's not in the control room, nor in the kitchen, the swimming pool; I've even tried his bedroom! Now I was just wandering. I walked past the Doctors room again and decided to check again-no such luck. "Cmon old girl, show me where he is." I muttered to the TARDIS, placing one of my hands on the wall. In return she made a sort of groaning noise. Taking this as a 'I will show you the way' I kept moving forward.
About half an hour later, I was ready to give up. However, I turned a corner and walked right into a door. Groaning, I rubbed my aching nose and looked at the door. It was larger than the other doors I'd seen, and this one seemed to be made of dark wood. "Is this it?" I asked. The TARDIS just groaned again. Sighing, I opened the door, revealing a library. I gasped. The walls were huge and lined with books, top to bottom, and shelves the size of houses were scattered randomly in odd angles. Glass chandeliers hung from the roof, and the carpet was a dark green. Despite the vast size of the room, the library was actually really cosy. Books were scattered over the floor in a wonky line, like a trail. So I followed it. It lead me too a clearing; well, I say clearing. It was more just like a large area of floor where the oddly placed bookshelves were not. Which, actually, I suppose is a clearing. Anyway, in the centre of the 'clearing' there was a dark red armchair, and beside that was a small wooden table, piled high with books. A table lamp was placed on the floor underneath the table. I walked closer to the books, only to realise that I couldn't read them. Instead of words, there were these circles, and inside the circles were more circles and dots and lines.
Suddenly, I heard footsteps coming towards me. On impulse, I hid behind the closest shelf. I started to panic when the footsteps got closer, but breathed a sigh of relief when it just turned out to be the Doctor. Idiot. Who else would It be? "There you are Doctor! I've been looking everywhere for you." I said, stepping out. He jumped slightly at my sudden appearance, but relaxed when he saw it was me.
"Yes, well, I've just been in here. Reading." He said quietly, head hung low.
"No you haven't." He looked up at me and gave me a quizzical look. "Those books, there not words, so you can't read them." I told him, pointing at the pile of books that I'm surprised haven't broken the table. He smiled sadly, looking at the books.
"There Gallifreyan. It's the language of the Time Lords. You can't read them because the TARDIS doesn't translate Gallifreyan." He picked up a book and stared at it longingly. "Enough of that though, how's Scarlett?"
"I don't know, I've been looking for you clever since you ran off." He was about say something when he was cut off by my phone ringing. I fished it out my pocket and looked at the caller ID. "It's Rory." He stepped towards me with wide eyes.
"Answer it then!"
"I am!" I snapped. "Rory, is everything ok?"
"Yeah, have you found the doctor?"
"I'm right here!" The Doctor yelled, waving his hands about. "Is Scarlett ok?"
"She's fine. Whoever did this really did a number on her, but the damage is mostly external. The only thing I'm worried about is her back. She must have done something pretty bad to it when she fell, but I can't be sure what will happen without the right stuff."
"I know where to go. Rory, I'm about to move the TARIDS, hold on to Scarlett and make sure she doesn't fall, alright?" Before Rory could answer the Doctor hung up. The Doctor grabbed my hand and ran out the library, dragging me with him.
"Doctor, where are we going?" I yelled.
"To New New York!"The Doctors POV:
I ran into the console room with Amy trailing right behind and immediately started pushing buttons and levers, desperately trying to get there as fast as possible. I ignored Amy's screamed questions and clung onto the control panel with dear life. As soon as we landed I ran past Amy and sped down the hall into the med-bay. "Doctor! Where are we?" Rory asked, still holding onto the bed that held Scarlett.
"No time just go." I said, scooping Scarlett's petite body into my arms and raced back to the console room and outside. I smiled in relief when I saw that we were inside New New Yorks hospital, run by the Sisters Of Plenitude. I pushed aside thoughts of the Flesh and focused on saving Scarlett. I ran up to the front desk.
"Oh my what happened?" The nurse at the desk exclaimed.
"She fell out a window."
"Goodness. Follow me." The nurse stood up swiftly and made her way to the elevator. By now Rory and Amy had caught up with me and were now following me mad the nurse. The elevator doors slid shut and began to move upwards.
"Prepare for de-sterilisation." A robotic voice said.
"Oh not this." I moaned.
"What is it? Doctor? What's de-steri-" Amy was cut off by the water spraying the five of us all over our body's. Amy stood stiff with her mouth hanging open while Rory just sighed and hung his head. After we were blow-dried off the doors opened and I quickly followed the nurse out the elevator through the corridor.
"Matron Casp!" The nurse called. Oh god, not her. Matron Casp came round the corner and beckoned me over to her straight away when she saw Scarlett.
"Come." She said, leading me to a bed. I set her down and turned to Matron.
"You can save her right?" I asked.
"Of course. You and your friends may wait in the lobby. I shall take good care of her." Matron Casp nodded to me and pulled a curtain around the bed so I could no longer see Scarlett. I sighed and turned back to the Ponds. Rory had joined Amy in the 'jaw dropping'.
"Cmon Ponds, we gotta go wait in the lobby."I told them, unable to hide the sadness in my voice.
"Uh, Doctor?" I turned on my heel and walked towards Rory, placing my hands on his shoulders.
"Yes?"
"What was that?" He asked pointing behind him.
"What was what?"
"The... Matron. She looked like a... A cat." He looked at me in disbelief.
"Yes. She is a cat. Or, Catkind. She's the leader of the Sisters Of Plenitude. They run the hospital." I told him. I let go of his shoulders and strode towards the doors, pulling a gob-smacked Amy with me.
"Right. Course." I heard Rory mutter behind me. We went back to the TARDIS and I moved her out the way and parked her just outside the hospital.
"Don't worry Doctor. It's like you said, they're the best. They'll fix her." Amy comforted me, wrapping her arms around me.
"I know." I muttered into her hair, returning the loving hug. "I know."Hola!
