sculpted masterpieces
arise from
unbroken glass
heated at a million degrees
and then cooled to reflect
savage beauty that withers
under scrupulous gazes.
sculpted masterpieces
arise from transparent
sheets of perfect glass
that bear no flaw to be beheld
by cynical eyes.
and that is why they're known
as masterpieces.
but what we seem to forget is that
glass is bound to s h a t t e r
at our feet someday.
and our perfect masterpieces--
they'll i m p l o d e someday.
