they skim through pages.
befuddled by the floating letters,
gloating letters
and numerals that pose as conundrums.

cyan eyes fill with salt water,
they swim in oceans
at the helplessness
blossoming in their hearts.

blood-shot eyes harden in resolve
they've made their decision.
just like the paper butterflies
that purposefully fly from their
prose-riddled
poetry-laced
hard-spined
razor-edged
s t o r y b o o k s

blood-shot eyes swim in delusion--
red-hazed delusion, peppered
with smithereens of insanity.

the world pops a question--
what is your  w o r t h ?
