I wake up to blinding lights shining in my eyes

"what happened?" i ask
"Riley, uh...i hate to break it to you but, you've miscarried. " the doctor says
"wh-what? " i ask
"yeah. " she says.

I look over at Lucas, he looks...really sad. Tears sting my eyes and he squeezes my hand.
