Erran's P.O.V.
Today has not been a good day for me. In one day, I failed two test, got a detention, and found out that my girlfriend of two years has been cheating on me. It's sad that it took me so long to accept that fact. I was never one to judge, so when people told me that she was unfaithful, I ignored them and gave her the benefit of the doubt. It wasn't until I found her in a bed with another guy that I realized that what people were telling me was true. Even though we've been dating for so long, I wasn't hurt. She wasn't my mate so her unfaithfulness didn't matter. What did matter though was how I looked like a complete fool. The thought of people laughing at me made me annoyed and slightly angered. Even though I broke up with her a week ago, the topic is still fresh at school. When the bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, I walked out of the building, jumped into my car, and headed to the gun range. I could serve the detention another day.
During the drive, my thoughts began to wander. Seeking a distraction, I let it. I was thinking about what I wanted to eat for dinner when I felt my wolf tugging at me. I snapped out of my haze and payed attention to him. Before i could ask him what was the matter, I heard him tell me to make a left at the intersection that we were coming up on. I listened. For fifteen minutes I drove, following every direction he gave me. I was starting to become curious of where we were going. I didn't try to ask my wolf though. For weeks, he has been agitated and a little jumpy. I think it all started when we caught a whiff of a delicious smell. I searched for hours that day but I couldn't locate the smell. I'm thinking smelt it again while i was too busy letting my mind get lost in wonderland. We pulled up into the rear parking lot of a supermarket. The entire lot was empty. I guess the store wasn't open yet.
What are we doing here, I asked my wolf.
Wait, he replied. I rolled my eyes and turned off my car. I jumped out and sat on my hood. A cool breeze swept over me. I put my hands behind my head and leaned back. I was about to go to sleep when I smelled that beautiful aroma. I jumped off of my car, smelling the air. I followed the scent. My mouth watered. I couldn't wait to find who or what possessed this wonderful aroma. In the middle of my wandering around, a sharp scream pierced my ears.
Move! My wolf didn't have to tell me twice. I felt the adrenaline course through my veins as I ran full speed towards the sound. I stopped at the entry way of a dark and grimy alley. If it wasn't for my advenced sight, I wouldn't have been able to see the most beautiful girl lying on the ground, looking up at her offenders in fear. I also wouldn't be able to see a hand strike her across the face, silencing her. Rage ran through my body. Who dare touch her! I wanted to kill who ever did this to her. I followed the hand, trying to see who it belonged to. I couldn't see the face because red hair was blocking it. Hey, that red hair looks very familiar. I could make out two other figures. The red haired girl was speaking. I couldn't decipher the words because the anger I was feeling drowned it out. The girl raised her fist. The outrage I felt surged up in me again, causing me to growl. When the four heads snapped up, I was able to see their faces clearly. Three of the four faces belonged to my ex Erica, my best friend Brandon, and his girl Tammi. I felt my wolf bare it's teeth. Traitors!
"You have three seconds to let her go before I kill you all," I said. I could feel my self begin to change as the seconds ticked by. But, before I could, I felt her staring at me, calming me. I didn't want to be calm but I couldn't help but look down at her and want to be in her loving arms. She tried to get up but Tammi tightened her grip on her. With out me having to do anything, the girl reached up and snapped her wrist, ignoring her cry of pain. She got up and limped to me. When she reached me, she instantly fell into my arms and kissed me. Saying that imaginary fireworks signified how awesome the kiss was is an understatement. She's our mate, wolf. She's our mate. My wolf nodded its head in agreement. He was never as happy as he was now. I broke the kiss and lifted her up. I knew she couldv'e walked but i didn't want to let her go just as yet.
"You can put me down now." her voice was sweet and melodic. I looked down at her and smiled. I walked to my car and set her down on the back trunk. I took the time to take her in. Her long jet black hair fell well past her waist. Despite her baggy clothes, I could tell that she had a sexy body from the way it felt when I was carrying her. Her olive skin went perfectly with her emerald eyes. I couldn't help but t stare at the goddess that was sitting on my car.
"Hello, earth to stranger!" Her voice snapped me out of my daze. She was staring at me with her beautiful eyes again. I smiled.
"I'm sorry babe. I was distracted by your beauty. What's your name?" I placed a hand on her thigh, causing her to shiver. My smile grew even bigger.
"M-My n-name is Arie Hendricks. Whats yours?" God, she was so adorable. A slight blush started to creep up her face. I couldn't wait to skip the formalities so that I could take her home already and show her off for the world to see.
"My name is Erran Smith." Arie tensed.
"You wouldn't happen to be the same Erran Smith as the alpha's son, would you?" I nodded.
"Is there a problem with me being the alpha's son?" I asked.
"Oh, that's not the problem. You see, The alpha's son just so happens to be Best friends with Brandon Evans who is dating Tammi Santana who is best friends with Erica Haynes. The problem is that those three people have been torturing me since grade school. Knowing the, this is just another set up. Knowing them, they are about to come around the corner and you would just carry on with their plans and beat me up. Please, just let me go. I didn't mean to do it. I'm already in enough pain as it is already. Please don't cause me any more." I looked up at her in shock. Her eyes were welling with tears.
"What pain are you in," I asked causing the fury to well up in me once more.
"My ankle. I cut it on a fence when i was running away from your friends. Ple-" I cut her off by gently taking both of her beet into my hands. The cut was on her left ankle. I was busy taking off her shoe when Arie started talking again.
"Please, Erran. Let me go." I looked up into her fear filled eyes and shook my head. "Your my mate. you are supposed to protect me, not harm me."
"Whoever said that I was going to harm you? I just want to see how bad you are hurt." she opened up her mouth to speak but was cut off.
"What the hell, Erran. What is she talking about?" I looked back to see none other than Erica standing behind me. I growled.
"You heard her right. She is my mate."
"Well your 'mate' broke my wrist. Move to the side so I could kill her." It was getting harder and harder for me to control my anger.
"Control your girl, Brandon. I'm not in the mood for her right now. Speaking of Tammi, would anyone of you guys like to tell me why in the hell you were cornering her in a alley?!"
"Well," Brandon spoke up. " you see, when we were at school we had a disagreement that ended up with her punching Tammi in the face and hitting me across mine with her skateboard. When she ran from the school, we chased her all the way here and well you know the rest." I snorted.
"I don't care what she did. None of you had the right to touch her. You are lucky I didn't kill Tammi for slapping her."
"Speaking of your mate, Erran." Erica said. "Where is she?" I spun around and saw that Arie had vanished. I looked around and she was no where to be found. The only evidence showing that she was ever there was the alluring smell she left behind. I turned back around to see Erica smiling triumphantly. "Now that she is gone, why don't you reject her and come back to me. You know you miss me." I looked down at her and snorted.
"No," with that, I pushed passed all of them and ran in the direction of her scent. She was not getting away from me.
