Chapter 7

Danny's P.O.V

...

"So, why are you here?" I asked. I lead them through to the kitchen.
"Because I'm... I'm your... your daughter." Jade replies. What? I have a 16 year old daughter? WHAT?
"What?"
"I'm your daughter" Jade repeats.
"Then who are they?" I ask, pointing towards the other children.
"Well, this is Amelia, my half sister," She motioned towards the 4 year old girl, "and this is Leigh.." Jade paused, nodding towards the baby girl, "... my daughter."
"Your daughter?" I ask, "And you're my daughter?" Jade nods, "So that makes me..." I trail off. Jade nods. "Oh my God!" I whisper. I walk forwards and Jade gives me Leigh.
After a few minutes, I say, "Jade, if you're my actual daughter, then why tell me now? Why not when you were younger?"
"Well, when I was little, my Mum told me that I didn't have a Dad, and as soon as I turned 6, she got married. When I was 12, Amelia was born, and my Mum died four months ago of lung cancer, and Amelia's Dad died last week. As soon as he died, I decided I was going to bring us here because before my Mum died, she told me your address and phone number." Jade explains.
"Oh, so you came here all by yourself?" I ask.
"Yeah, but don't worry, it was fine."
"Oh, okay" I say.
Just at that moment, the doorbell rings. I hear someone answer it and someone screaming "Jessie!" while someone else screams "Holly!". Well I guess Hollys arrived. Holly is Jessie's best friend.
"I thought we were the only ones in the house?" Jade says. Just at that moment, I hear someone the other side of the door.
"Jessie?" I say out loud, "Don't move, Jade," I walk to the door and open it.
"Danny? Who's Jade?" Jessie looks hurt. Oh no, she thinks I'm cheating on her.
"Umm... no one, go back to your family. Please?" I say. Jessie starts to walk down the corridor to the lounge. That will make it look like I'm cheating on her even more! Damn it! "No, Jessie, wait!" I manage to stutter. She looks back over her shoulder and I see that she's crying. Holly gives me an evil look and put her arm around Jessie. "I love you," I say just loud enough for Jessie to hear, and no one else, but she just walks back into the lounge. Now her whole family will hate me! Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!
"Who's Jessie?" Amelia asks.
"She's my... was my... I don't know!" I say.

"Just... stay here." I say, running through to the lounge.
"Jessie, please, just listen!" I say when I get to the lounge. As I walk in, everyone accept Holly, Jessie and the kids, stands up. Holly still has her arm around Jessie and Evie is sitting on Jessie's lap giving her a hug.
"What Danny?" Jessie asks.
"Just follow me," I say. Hesitantly, Jessie lifts Evie off her lap and comes with me. I walk through to the kitchen door and just before I open it, I say, "Jessie, before we go in, I just wanna say, I didn't know until my phone rang earlier. And please don't assume anything. It's not what it looks like." Jessie nods and I walk into the kitchen with her behind me.
She gasps. "Who's that?" She asks.

**Jessie's P.O.V**

"This is Jade, Amelia and Leigh," Danny replies. Who? I'm shocked. Is this Danny's family? Danny's daughters?
"Who?" I ask again.
"Jade is my daughter, Amelia is Jade's half sister and Leigh is Jade's..." He mumbles the last word, so I don't understand.
"Jade's what?" I ask patiently.
"My daughter." The tallest girl, who I'm guessing is Jade, tells me. I'm even more shocked now.
"Danny... why didn't you tell me?" I ask, walking towards him. He has his arms up to his face and I can see that he has tears in his eyes. I can't tell if they're tears of joy or sadness. "Danny?" I move away his arm and kiss him. "Danny," I repeat, "What's the matter?"
"Nothing, it's just, I love you so much and your family's gonna hate me now."
"Danny, I'll explain to them. Shall we go in and tell them that I imagined it and that you knew that you had a daughter who had a half sister and a daughter?" I say.
"Okay." Danny says. I put my hand on his cheek and wipe away the tears with my thumb.
"Jade, when I say the word 'daughter', I need all of you to come out. Okay?" I ask. Jade nods.

Danny and I walk into the lounge and Danny says:
"Umm..."
"Basically, I just imagined that and Danny was talking to 'Jade', but Jade's not who you think she is. Jade is
Danny's..." I decide to let Danny say it.
"My daughter." Just at that moment, Jade walks in with Leigh in her arms and Amelia next to her.
"WHAT?" My Dad shouts.
"I just realised who that is! That's Danny O'Donoghue!" Evie says, "Oh my God!"
"How old are you?" My Mum asks Jade.
"I'm sixteen," Jade mumbles.
"How old is the baby?" Mum asks.
"Two weeks." Jade says.
"You're 16?" Rachel points to Jade, "And you're 35?" She points to Danny, "19, eww!" Rachel exclaims.
"Thanks!" I say sarcastically. My Mum, my Dad, Hannah, Rachel and Holly all gasp. (Of course I told Holly, she's my best friend.) The room goes silent.
"Why 'thanks'?" Danny asks, breaking the silence. He looks confused. Oh no. I shouldn't have said that. Now I'll have to tell him. Tell him about them.
