The love story begins?

"So, do you have boyfriend or crush?" he asked seriously.

I was surprised when he was asking that. I felt weird. I was nervous, and my heart was beating really fast.

I don't know what to answer. Should I confess or not?

"Eh? Uhm, actually I.... I....

*his phone rings*

'Hello? oh, Niah, I'm just in our room. Why? Oh, ok. See ya. Love you!'

As soon as I heard that last phrase, my eyes widen as if I saw a ghost. I felt weird again, but this time, it's weirder. I feel like my heart sank.

"I guess I have to go, sorry. Let's talk some other time." he said hurriedly. I was preoccupied for a bit and then I said softly, "oh,sure" with a fake smile.

OMG! We we're friends for about a month now, how could I never notice he has girlfriend???

I spent the night thinking what will I do now??

Friday. Freetime.

"Xy, you wanna come with us? We're going to canteen" Fee asked. "I think I'll just stay here for now. I'm tired"

"Oh okay"

I was alone in my chair. It was so boring, so I just slept on my arm chair. Before I could actually sleep, Yhance approached. I looked at him, smiled, then looked away.

"Xy, you awright?" he asked.

"Yep, I always am."

"That's unusual?" he whispered.

"Sorry?"

"Oh, nothing."

"Sorry, but I'm really sleepy today." I said.

Actually, it's just an excuse. 

"Oh sorry" he said. I didn't answer, just smiled at him, then lied down my head again.

By the way, I've decided to avoid him now, not because I was mad at him, but because I respect his girlfriend, and I'm afraid that there'll be misunderstandings which will cause them both problem.

T'was Saturday evening. I was lying on my bed again, thinking. *phone rings*

-Message from Yhance- I opened it.

'Hey, I didn't see you at practice (intramurals) today. Where were you?'

I hesitated if should I reply, but then I think, I guess I should.

'I was just ill'.

'Really? You should take medicine then. Get well soon!' he replied.

I was actually quite happy with what he replied.

Our conversation continued until he said 'Oh, I almost forgot. You didn't answer my question yet. Do you have boyfriend or crush?'

I wasn't confused this time. I know what I'll say. 'Oh that, ehm, actually, I got none for both of them.'

'Oh, really? Hmm. I'm just gonna have my dinner. Talk to ya later.' he replied.

O...kay? That was weird. He doesn't usually have his dinner this time. What's with him now?

Weeks passed. There were things that weren't the same as before.

It's Monday morning. I was walking down the corridor when suddenly, "Xy!" someone called me.

"Who was that?" I looked everywhere, and turned back, and oh, it was Yhance wearing a big smile.

"Oh Yhance, it's you! What's up?" I asked.
