It was if time had come to a complete stand still. The house was silent as Chester made his way through the open back door of Grace's home, having had no luck with the front door he had made his way to the back hoping Grace had forgot to lock it. It turned out that he didn't need to worry as the door had been left open by the person that had broken into Grace's house.  As he walked through the house Chester considered it strange that nothing had been touched and the house itself was silent. Slowly making his way up the staircase Chester made his way to what he assumed was Graces room before slowly opening the door, the sight that greeted him was one that would haunt him for a long time. The entire room had been turned upside down, as if someone was looking for something. As Chester inspected the room further he realised that a light was shining from underneath a cracked open door. Slowly making his way over to the bathroom door he pushed it open, and that's where he found her, lying on the floor with a large cut on her head as well as a couple more cuts on each of her arms.  He got to his knees beside her and that's when he noticed her tattered shirt had ridden up to reveal a large bruise forming on her side. After check she was still breathing, Chester gently lifted Grace into his arms not bothered about the blood that was now slowly started to cover his shirt. He moved her to the bed with as much delicately as he could before pulling out his phone and calling 911. After being told that the ambulance and police would be with them as soon as possible, he sunk down to his knees at the side of the bed hoping more than anything that Grace would pull through so he could finally find the courage to tell her how he felt.
