Jinx's POV
"You look gorgeous." Mom said to me as she started wiping her tears away.
"If you keep being so emotional our bill with Kasey will skyrocket and daddy will cut us off." I said while Kasey, our makeup artist, starts fixing Mom's makeup for the fourth time in one hour because her water works keep flowing.
"The day your father tries to cut me off of anything is the day i go from the sweet ambitious Lyric to ratchet Lyric that used to stay in Compton. Your daddy got more sense than that baby!" She said while pretending to have a gun and a knife in her hand waving them both around. I love my mom, her and my dad came from basically nothing, but education was the one thing to take them from the struggle to giving me any and everything I want and don't need. Mom keeps fiddling with my dress trying to make sure Stella McCartney got every detail right.
"We're ready for you Mrs. Noland." Yolanda, the event planner, tells my mom knocking on my door. Yes you read that right my family are the Noland's. Both of my parents have made a mark in this world of themselves. My mom. Lyric Noland, being the greatest Defense Lawyer ever made... yes I'm bias. Then, my dad Israel Noland being the business man that anybody with a dollar and a dream should be talking to. My dad helps everyone with their dreams because he used to be in that position himself and decided that everyone deserves a chance to live the luxury life. You would think they would both be all for me following my dreams, but no. My mom wants me to go to Law School and my dad wants me to carry his other businesses first then slowly expand my own and then finally tackle the family business after years and years of being a business major. Of course I take their opinions about my life seriously, but it is also still my damn life. Therefore, those options are no where near my brain. I want to sing and i will as soon as i prove to my stubborn parents that its the correct business choice for me. But enough with my beautiful life and on to my banquet. Birthdays are always spectacular in the Noland household therefore throwing a banquet with formal dresses and suits is just another day. My mom always makes a big deal and cries her eyes out every year that I turn a year older. This year I'm 17 and this is the biggest celebration yet. My mom opens the door to see my dad in the door way about to pound on the door because we were taking too long and it was time for them to walk out so the banquet can stay on schedule. Right behind my dad was the love of my life, Aiden Bradley the son of my parents best friends. Our life was basically planned since our parents met. Too bad I don't have a brother or his sister Chloe would definitely be dating him, but then again the stupid bitch doesn't like me for some unknown reason. She doesn't know that I know about the hatred she has in her heart for little old me but who cares, she's basic.
"Damn." Aiden said with his eyes bulging as he started roaming his eyes down my body. I smiled at him and walked back to my vanity having one last look at my hair before Jen Atkin, my hairstylist, left to go into the banquet. After my last look of approval I was finally ready for my grand entrance. I linked my arm in Aiden's arm and we walked to the door waiting on our names to be announced. All I could think about while we waited was the many years we have spent together as a couple I have only had two boyfriends in 17 years and the first one lasted about a year and Aiden and I have been together every since 9th grade. Life without him is nonexistent because we are meant to be. Finally, we hear our names called and Yolanda is rushing us to make our grand entrance. I take one last look in the full length mirror before stepping through the doors. Everyone is excited and cheering and I am smiling from ear to ear. I instantly spot my best friends and Chloe sitting at the table with Aiden's three friends, but I went the other way to my separate table for just Aiden and I. My table is decked out in crystals and I must say that Yolanda deserves a raise for this masterpiece. Now let us party!
