Jinx's POV
"Are you enjoying yourself sweetie?" asked my father as he kissed the top of my head.
"Yes Dad I'm fine, now stop it before you mess up my hair," I said as i combed my fingers through my hair in an attempt to fix the frizz. I pulled my compact mirror out of my Céline bag checking my makeup for the almost 15th time tonight.
"Let's dance babe" Aiden whispers in my ear while closing my mirror. Standing from my seat, I take Aiden's hand and he leads me to the dance floor. I place my arms around his neck as he places his around my waist moving them slowly down to my butt. We slowly swayed from left to right as the grand piano played in the background. I was enjoying this moment with Aiden, it felt like it was just me and him on the dance floor. I looked into his dark brown eyes and thought about how he's such an amazing boyfriend.
"What are you thinking about?" he asked snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Just thinking of how much I love you," I said pecking his soft pink lips. Pulling away from the kiss, I rub my thumb across his lips, wiping away the lipstick stains. He smiled down at me pulling me closer into his chest.
"I love you too," he replied still holding me close.
"Y'all are the absolute cutest. Let me take a picture for the gram," one of my best friends Anastasia says ruining the moment while snapping multiple pictures.
"Can we at least smile for these pictures Ana?" I ask while still holding onto to Aiden.
"Off guards are the best girl, and I took about 20 already so," I just rolled my eyes at her response, but thats Anastasia for you. She doesn't care what she does or says in her mind it's always going to be right.
"Where is Jordan?" I say searching the ballroom looking for her. She's my other best friend, we're like the three musketeers. Every time you see me you see Jordan and Ana also. We've been friends since diapers and nothing can come between us, not even Aiden well sometimes. I mean he is my boyfriend.
"She's in the restroom, you know making sure she looks alright I guess." Jordan is the conceited one out of the three of us, well we're all kind of conceited but she's the worst. We don't mind though its just that we have a reason to be so in love with ourselves.
"I'll be back babe, Chloe needs me over there," Aiden lets go of my hand and walks towards the direction Chloe is in. Chloe is his sister or shall I say my sister in-law; she's like the sister I never had or sometimes the sister I never wanted. At the end of the day she's gonna always be there for me because I am dating her brother.
"We're getting fucked up tonight, right?" Ana asked as soon as Aiden was out of sight. She's the party girl always wanting to get "fucked up" as she likes to say
"You know my mother and father won't let me go out" I say rolling my eyes, annoyed with them because they do this every year and they know my answer is always no.
"Girl you are so going out...me and Jordan are going to make sure of it."
"Speaking of Jordan there she is." Jordan struts over to us with a huge grin on her face. You could smell her perfume from a mile away; she really over did it this time.
"Hey girls, so what's the move tonight. I know we're taking the birthday girl out," Jordan elbows my side.
"Whatever it is we're doing we need to be leaving right about now to get ready," Ana points out looking at her Rolex and fetching her car keys out of her purse.
"It's only 9:45 and plus I can't leave my own banquet; my parents will be so disappointed in me." I frown up poking my bottom lip out hoping they'd leave me alone because clubs are not my type of atmosphere and I know that is exactly where they want me to go.
"Exactly we need to be at the club by eleven before security gets heavy and we can't get in. Your parents will get over it, now lets go." Ana demanded yanking me to the nearest exit.
"I can't leave my car. Can I tell Aiden and my parents bye?"
"Shut up with the excuses Jinx, they are not going to work this year," Jordan says. I cross my arms over my chest and stomp out of the building. Ana unlocks the doors to her all black Rolls-Royce and I hop in the backseat being sure to slam the doors
"Girl have you lost your damn...," Ana begins but is cut off.
"You better watch your mouth young lady," My mother demands, "now you all come on back inside, we have a big surprise for Jinx." My mom opens the car door and yanks me out basically dragging me into the building. We enter the building as my father is giving his speech thanking everyone for coming and how much he loves me. Normally we go to the gifts after his epic speech, so I knew I was getting something extravagant this year; after all it is the big 17..."go big or go home" right?
"Jinx, baby you know how much we love you and we will do anything for you. We know you've always dreamed of getting a Range Rover and we just thought that would be a great present for your 17th birthday." My mother said into the microphone making my heart drop to my toes. She handed me the keys and walked to the back exit while everyone followed. She opened the doors revealing a white carbon fiber Range Rover. It was so beautiful, I couldn't help but cry.
"Do you not like it sweetie? We'll take it back and get you another." worried my mother hugs me while rubbing my back.
"No Mom, I love it and I love you guys so much." Jordan and Ana are the first to jump in the car; Jordan in the back and Ana in the front. Ana blows the horn twice, how rude of her. Ruining the moment once again. I break away from my mother's embrace and run to the drivers side.
"Don't get into any trouble tonight now girls. Seat belts on and drive speed limit." my father says while closing my door.
"Oh we will Mr. Noland!" Ana yells while plugging her phone to an aux cord and turning up the radio.
"The night is just beginning Jinx." Jordan mentions from the backseat. What have i gotten myself into tonight with these girls.
