August 28 finally arrives, I sigh in relief to get dressed for school.
I of most people hate school, but when you live in a house with perky, rich people without school you kinda go crazy. I rush into the bathroom and start the shower. My little sister immediately starts banging on the door. "Auggie! I wanted to take a shower." She whines. "I told you to start waking up earlier then me if your gonna take a shower." I backfire. "But Auggie..." "Can't hear you, I'm in the water." I chuckle. "Hmpf." I hear her grunt and then she walks away. Victory is mine! I smile, after my shower I struggle to dress in my school uniform.

I look for my new Navy blue slacks. My sweater I always wear sits quietly on my bed, I reach for it but realize I dun got a shirt on. I look into my closet and find one of those uniform shirts with buttons and a collar, awesome. Tieing my black converse I stumble back. "Come on ,Auggie! The bus is here!" Shit! I rush out the door with my sweater in my mouth, my tie undone and my other shoe still untied. "Auggie." My mother gasps. She does my tie and then quickly kneels down to tie my shoe. As she dose that, I slip on my sweater and swing my backpack over my shoulder.

"Thanks ma." I give her a kiss on the cheek and leave. "Wait for your sister!" I stop at the doors to the bus, my eyes directly at my house door. 3 seconds later she appears. "Sorry mommy. I was having a hard time putting this bow in my hair." I roll my eyes at her sad excuse. She kisses my ma on the cheek and we both leave in the bus.

She grabs my hand as we search for a seat. What the fuck? The last time she grabbed my hand was when she was 7 ,we got lost at Walmart and I was the only one beside her. " You okay?" I whisper. She shakes her head. "Is the little baby scared?" I coo. She punches my gut with her other hand. "No you idiot. These people are just making me nervous is all..." "Your scared." I laugh. She rolls her eyes and pulls me to the back, we sit where the bumps make the bus fly up. I don't know why but I always enjoyed sitting back here.

****A Few Mins Later****

Kirtsen gives me a hug before she leaves off the bus, everyone stares as she goes. I look at her face, her eyes glued to the ground and her hands shaky. Dammit...I gotta do a brother moment now... I get from my seat and rush over to her. She turns back with fear in her eyes. I pick her up from her knees, macking sure her skirt dosent go up and piggyback ride her to the school doors. "Auggie." She whines in my ear. "What?" I growl. "...Why'd you do that?" She squeeks in her annoyed tone. "Because you were being a big ass baby." I say flatly. "But now ima look like a baby..." "Oh well..." I say with a roll of my eyes. I reach the entrance and gently place her on the ground. "Thanks..." She mumbles before turning to the door.

I sigh and begin my walk to school, the bus already left so I might as well just walk right? A few minutes later I pull out my headphones and plug them in my phone, jamming out to Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco.

I see my school building up a mile ahead, 7:45. Yes! I'm not late yet! I begin to jog and feel my amulet bounce against my chest, and my backpack pound against my back. I reach the building and find everyone already going in. Thank God. I smile at the sky.

****In School*****

"Hey." I greet my group of friends as I enter the classroom The girls all run towards me, their arms outstretched for a hug. I laugh under my breath as they squeeze me, my friend's Joshua, Carlos, Alan, Mikey and Joseph all stare at me as though I was a ladies man. I run over to them and pound their fists.

"Glad to see you again." My main friend Joseph says with a pat. "You too..." I reply awkwardly, a smug grin across my face. Mikey begins to talk about his summer but he gets cut off by the second school bell, telling us class has started. I groan as I take my seat between Carlos and Malery two of my most trusted friends. They look over to me with board faces. "Yeah... we know how u feel." She mumbles. I laugh at how low her voice sounded and they wait for a minute before they join me in laughter.

The door opens wide and the most meanest teacher walks in...Ms.Avenue. I don't understand why she doesn't like me...I only took her hershey bar once when she wasn't looking and I did kinda brake her favorite cup to drink out of... but still I do not understand why she hates me.
Since I sit in the back where I won't be the one getting glared at...or so I thought.
"Richards! Valenzuela! Orellano! Rivas!..." I ignore her as she calls everyone's last name out of order and just look outside at the birds.

"That is a bluejay Auggie." My mother whispers softly in my ear as we sit on her favorite bench at the park, watching a bluejay rest on a beautiful tree with white flowers. "A bluejay?" I whisper, my blue-gray eyes filled with wonder. "Yes baby... they come here ever so rarely... they are said to bring good luck and...if you wish on it, it will come true." "Really?" I smile. "Yes... now close your eyes and wish." I close my eyes and wish... for who knows what. My mother waits patiently for me to reopen my eyes, and when I do she smiles kindly at me and gives me a bath of kisses on my face.

"August Flores Martinez!" I open my eyes and shoot my head up. "Here-uh present!" I stumble in my words, as I wipe the spit from my mouth. The teacher burns holes through the front of my skull, I chuckle nervously as everyone laughs around me.

(Once the school bell rings)

"So Mr.August how hilarious was your first day in Mrs.Avenue's class?"
