(Matt's POV)
Shit. FBI. I gotta find a way out of here!
All of the men scattered. Not giving a damn about their girls. Some already being captured by the authorities. Others knowing that they've done so much wrong, so instead of surrendering, they shoot themselves in the head.
In the first five seconds of chaos, I heard about fifteen rounds sounding. Not coming from the FBI. But from all of the men killing themselves.
I tried to look away. But it was all around me.
Dear God, please help me.
I was brought into this mess. My father wanted to buy a girl and have me marry her. I didn't want anything to do with this. I wanted these girls freed. I wanted them to have their own lives and to fall in love with whomever they desired. But of course I had no say.
My father didn't even remember me. He went his own way to try and escape. I, too, wanted to escape the FBI. Or else I would be blamed for helping my father with his crimes.
The girls kept scattering, too. But scattering to the authorities. "Dale! Dale! Help me! Dale?!" A girl stood in the middle of the room. Blindfolded and left alone.
In that moment, time froze. The gunshots and screams of the others weren't important. That girl was important. I didn't know why. Her owner had been shot and he was several feet away from her.
Poor girl.
I ran to her and picked up a knife along the way. She flinched and screamed to the feel of my touch.
"Who are you?! Get away from me!"
"It's OK. I'm going to help you get out of here. I'm going to help you find your way home."
She eased down once she heard this. I cut the rope and untangled it. I made her face me and untied the cloth. Her eyelashes fluttered to life.
God she's beautiful. She shouldn't have to suffer like this.
She flinched whenever she heard gunshots. FBI agents were trying to grab criminals while also trying not to scare the girls away.
There seemed like no way to out. But there was a garage door behind us...
which was closing. I pulled the girl with me towards the gray garage door. "Run! That's our exit!"The FBI agents were trying to close all exits. They didn't want us to escape. We both ducked down and rolled out just in time. It was a good thing this girl was fast.
The FBI hadn't surrounded the whole perimeter yet.
Thank goodness.
My hands felt really sweaty but I still held on to her. I looked towards the girl. She looked exhausted. Her face was all red. We were heading towards a busy street so I made us slow down. The agents would be asking people if they've seen any suspects running away. I wanted us to look normal.
"Th-thanks. For saving me." She said as she tried to catch her breath.
