Dad is smiling at me, his arms out as if to hug me, his eyes-oh god! Suddenly his smile is full of sharp, razor sharp teeth, and his eyes are glowing red . . . Horns are sprouting from his head! Wings, demonic wings, are sprouting from his back! Oh god, he's going to kill me! He's walking over to me! Why can't I move!? Why-
"Wake up!" a voice shocked me awake, my eyes opening on instinct the find the usual darkness. But the demonic image of my father still burned in my mind, warning me. "You alright, love?" David asked. I nodded, staring a bit into the darkness, as if searching for something. I felt David's hand try to touch my hair and flinched. He didn't seem fazed, stroking my hair gently, calming me. "It's okay, you're safe now." David said soothingly.
"I'm fine." I said, shrinking away from David's hand. David, as well as I could tell without sight, didn't mind.
"You must be hungry, love. I cooked some breakfast for you; bacon, toast, sausage. Do you need help down the stairs?" David offered, and I felt a small rush of air, probably a hand offered to help me. I stood up on m own, but I did let him lead me into the kitchen. He pulled out the seat I sat in, and placed a plate in front of me. I was grateful all the food was finger food. I hadn't exactly mastered the art of eating blind. I ate as neatly as was possible. I finished after several minutes of silence, and soon I couldn't take it.
"Thank you for the food." I said softly, feeling a little awkward from earlier.
"Please, it was nothing." David said.
"Also . . . Thank you for saving me." I said, "I never told you my name."
"It's fine, the less I know the better."
"No, it's the least I can do in return for your help.
"Alright. I guess I would like to hear your name." David said, a smile in his voice.
"Chieko Ashigawa." I said, smiling.
"It's a very lovely name."
"Thank you." I said, happy for a moment before shivering. Then I felt something crushing me, and I couldn't breath. In the back of my head I saw my father's figure, the demonic one, laughing. I was choking by the time I regained my breath, and I wheezed, coughing.
"You alright, love?" David asked, and I realized he had saved my life, again.
"Y-Yeah . . . I'm fine . . ." I lied, my heart beating like crazy. I knew my face was pale. I was scared to death, of my father. I didn't know what was happening to me, but I knew it wasn't good, and it definitely had something to do with my father.
