Chapter 5

Nash's Pov

"Hasss wake up sleep head." I said quietly in Hayes' ear. He jumped and sat up.
"What time is it?" He said while rubbing his eyes.
I grabbed my phone and looked at the time "its 9:45. Everyone is down stairs wait for you to wake up so we can go out for breakfast." I said
"Okay I'm gonna get dressed and I'll come down."
"Okay happy birthday hasss." I said as I shut the door.

Hayes' Pov

After Nash left I rolled out of my bed and started going through my closet and picked out a maroon v neck, khakis, and black vans. After I brushed my teeth and sprayed some cologne I headed down the stairs and saw almost everyone dogging at me. They all tackled me and said happy birthday but I notice lex still wasn't down stairs yet. "Where's Lexi?" I asked with my eyebrow raised.
"You know how long girls take to get ready." Taylor said with a wink.
"Good point." I laughed

*15 minutes later*

Finally I finally heard little footsteps come down the stairs.
"Hey lex-.... Woahhh. I tried to say but I was speechless.
"Hey Hayes." She said while flipping her dark brown hair back.

Lexi's Pov

After finishing my eyeliner I took a couple steps back and looked in the mirror. I was wearing a mint green crop top and a black skater skirt. I walked over to my closet and grabbed my black converse and put them on and headed down stairs.
"Hey lex-.... Woahhh." Hayes said
"Hey Hayes." I said
After that I gave Hayes a hug and told him happy birthday.

*skip breakfast*

When we got home we started to blast music and dance. It was probably one of the best times I've had with the boys. A little bit later we put on "Like that" by Jack& Jack and Hayes opened presents. The last present left was mine. I was kinda scared of what he would think about the present. What if he doesn't like it? While I was zoned out I final snapped out of it because the boys were shaking me and asking if I was okay. I've just been kinda feeling depressed lately. I don't know what's wrong with me. When Hayes reached his hand into the bag my phone started ringing. Unknown number? I wonder who it is.
"I'll be right back I have to take this. You don't have to wait for me." I said quietly
"Okay." He said with a smirk
I ran up the stairs and answered the call.
"Hello? Alexia are you there?"

My heart sank

I dropped my phone on the floor

"Hello?"
I slowly bent over and picked up my phone.
"Hello?" I said with fright in my voice.
"Malinda and I are looking forward to getting you back in a month or 2."
"I'm not gonna let you and that bitch take me away from my family again okay!" I snapped
"Watch you language young lady! And I'm your dad and and Malinda is going to be your mom so you need to get over yourself." He yelled
"After the hell you put me through I don't have to listen to you and your my biological dad okay, I don't consider you my dad anymore so you can get over yourself because no matter what I'm gonna hate you." I yelled and hung up.
I sat on my bed and sobbed into my pillow. I was depressed, furious, upset, and mad all at the same time. I stood up and kicked my wall.
Surprisingly It didn't hurt. I had so much rage built up that kicking the wall almost soothed me.  I was still crying. Just the fact that the guy I used to call dad is still trying to ruin my life kills me. A couple seconds later someone burst through the door.

Hayes' Pov

"I'm not gonna let you and that bitch take me away from my family again okay!" I heard Lexi yell.
I looked at all of the boys and they gave me a blank stare and I volunteered to go see if everything was okay and Taylor said he would come with. We took our time getting up but then we heard a loud thud and began running. We listened by her door and heard sobbing. "What do we do?" Taylor asked
"She just sounds upset but go get the rest of the guys I'll talk to her first. I said
He nodded and started to walk down stairs.
I carefully opened the door and saw Lexi against the wall sobbing in her hands. I walked over and sat down next to her. She jumped and looked up at me. I out my arm around he and she rested her head on me.
"Are you okay?" I asked
"No." She sobbed
"We can talk in the morning but you should get some rest Lexi but if you want to talk right now we can."
"Tomorrow." She whispered
"I can also open your gift tomorrow." I said with a smile.
She wiped her tears away and stood up.
"Thanks for checking On me Hayes. I appreciate you being here for me."
"No problem." I said
I hugged her.... For a really long time. She really does mean the world to me. I kissed the top of her head and she laid down on her bed and asked if I would stay and obviously I was going to because I mean I want to be here for her.
"I love you Hayes..." She said softly
"I love you to Lexi." I said
In a short amount of time I heard soft snores escape her mouth. I giggled to myself and squeezed her hand a little. A little later I fell into a deep sleep next to the girl of my dreams.
