Nothing of the storyline is changed. I rewrote my terrible paragraphs. :)
--------------------"Alright, I'm gonna head out to get some clothes from my old house." I got up from the couch and lightly stretched. It was already 1pm. I decided to get my clothes because I'll be staying here for a loooong time. Sigh.
"Looking like that?" Jeff asked, sitting up from his bed and looking me up and down.
I turned to face the mirror and I cringed. I was wearing my pyjama T-shirt, random black leggings and flats. "Well it's not like I have anything else to wear." I flipped my hair, put my hands on my hips and turned to Jeff.
"You do realize it's cold outside?" He looked at me with a straight face but he still looked like he was smiling, obviously. I stood on my tippy-toes and glanced outside. The sky was gray and the woods looked creepy as ever.
"Um..." I didn't get to finish my sentence when E.J. bursted through the bedroom's door. He glanced at me, then Jeff, then me again. He looked me up and down.
"Whaaat are you wearing?" E.J. asked. "Y'know, never mind. Slendy asked me to go along with you to your old house just to make sure nothing happens to you. I'm guessing you're ready to go?"
How did Slenderman know I was going to go to my old house? Huh. Creepy. The boy with the blue mask coughed awkwardly.
"O-Oh yeah, let's go." I gave Jeff a small wave and slipped out of his room, E.J. following close behind. After the time I've spent in the mansion, I mangaged to remember only E.J.'s and Ben's names. Toby and Jeff can be considered as friends. I think..
"I think you'll need something warmer, (Y/n). Follow me." I blinked at him but did as told. I wonder why was he acting so nice? I never really talked to him. I was following him up the stairs and to what seemed to his room. He opened the door and I followed him inside. He walked to his closet and picked out a dark blue hoodie, which looked so, so warm.
"Here, you can wear this. It's a bit too big for you but that will have to do." He threw the hoodie over to me, which I cough just in time. "Jane was being a little bitchy and didn't want to lend you one of her clothing. Clockwork was no where in sight." He shrugged.
"Oh. Thank you though!" I slid the hoodie over my T-shirt. It felt so warm and soft.
"You're welcome. Now let's go, before it starts raining." I nodded and we both walked out of his room. It was nice that E.J. could come along, otherwise I'd get lost in these woods.. I didn't feel like bothering Toby. I didn't really know where he was, because Toby wasn't eating breakfast with us. It was so awkward sitting with everyone, mainly because they all laughet and chatted away.
We said our good byes to everyone and went out of the mansion. And Jeff was right, it is pretty chilly outside.
---
"Are we there yet?" I whine and run up to E.J.. We've been walking through the eerie forest for who knows how long. E.J. sighs and keeps walking straight ahead.
"We've been walking for 5 minutes, (Y/n)..." E.J. responds and I sigh.
"Oh."
"...but we're almost there though. I know a lot of shortcuts to your house." I blinked and ran up besides him.
"Why would you know shortcuts to my place?"
"Reasons.."
I playfully nudged him and giggled. "Come on, Jack, tell me...or else!"
"Psh. Or else what?" He jumped over a fallen tree trunk. I oh so gracefully crawled over the trunk and ran up to his side again.
"I'll steal your tiny knife thingy."
"....you mean my scaple?"
"Yeah, that!"
E.J. sighed and went into the bushes. I followed close behing, getting a few branch slaps here and there on my face. When I stumbled out of the bushes, I saw my amazing two story house. But...it didn't feel the same anymore. The aura around the house was just overwhelming.
Without thinking, I ran up to the front door and tried to open it. But it was locked. And guess who didn't bring a key? That's right, me.
"Uh, Jack, there's a slight problem.." I turned on my heel to see E.J. no where to be seen. As I was just about to go look for him, the front door suddenly opened with a soft click sound. I looked over my shoulder to see E.J. standing in the doorway.
"I figured you'd forget the key, so ta-dah you're welcome." He chuckled and headed into the house and so did I.
As I entered the house, I had this little hope Amber would come running to me, hugging me ever so tightly. My mom greeting me with a plate of cookies.. And my dad sitting on the couch, watching news or reading a newspaper. But that happened rarely. I sighed softly. The only one who gave me a greeting was the cold, empty house.
As I walked down the hallway, I glanced into the kitchen. No one was there, so I pushed aside all my gloomy thoughts and headed right up to my room. As I pushed the door open, I don't know why, but I expected something to be different. But everything was the same. Just the way I left it.
E.J. entered my room just as I grabbed a bag and a rather large suitcase to put all my clothes in. I set them down on my bed and walk over to my closet.
"Quite the house you've got. Pretty cozy." E.J. spoke up, breaking the silence.
"Yeah... I'll miss this place. I wish I could stay here.." Sighing, I grabbed a handful of clothes and brought them to the bed, plopping them down.
"Buuut you can't." He dragged out the 'u' in 'but'.
I started to fold my clothes, setting them in my bag. "Yeah I kinda know that, Jack."
"Call me E.J..or Eyeless. Because there are two Jacks in the mansion. Me and Laughing Jack. Plus, I don't think 'Jack' suits me."
"Who's Laughing Jack, again?" I still didn't remember their names. I put away the pile of clothes and made my way back to the closet, picking out an another pile of clothes.
"The monochrome clown, who laughs a lot."
"Oh. Right." I looked over at E.J. watching me from the doorway. "Stop staring at me like that, it's creeping me out a little.." He chuckled. "How about you come here and help me out?"
We spent an hour or so gathering my things in bags and whatnot. As I was just about to walk out if the house, I grabbed a photo of me, Amber, my dad and my mom. I just couldn't leave it here to collect dust.
E.J. helped me carry the bags out. He somehow managed to lock the door again. I didn't really question him and his actions..
Funny how just a few weeks ago, I was still living here, in this amazing house where I spent my childhood at having fun. But in a way, I'm glad my life took a turn in the opposite direction.
I stood there, just staring at my house, over-thinking everything. Suddenly, E.J. nudged me and I snapped back into reality. I gave him a playful glare and nudged him back, a bit too hard if you ask me. E.J. stumbled back a step and tripped over one of my bags and fell down onto his backside.
I let out a small laugh as he stood back up, dusting himself off.
I smiled and said:
"Rule number uno. Never let your guard down when you're around a newbie"
