Chapter 5

My pool party had been a success, and I became the hot new It girl overnight. Kristen Visine was fuming, but her girls Heather and Anna had completely switched over to my side. Connor and Will were flirting like crazy, and Peter was still trying to get back on my good side. I decided that I might as well join the cheerleading team since Heather and Anna were my closest “friends” and it would only help my reputation, something I needed in order to pull off my revenge plan. Peter, Connor, Kristen, Heather and Anna were the main targets of my plan. Because Will had attempted to defend me, I decided I would be nice and spare him this time around.

The plan was pretty basic- to embarrass them and ruin their reputations. Sure, it sounded harsh, but it wasn’t like they helped Sasha at all. Kristen, Heather, and Anna would be the first to go. It would be easy since they were on the cheerleading team with me. Oakwood High would hate them within a day.

At my first cheer practice, I wowed the girls. I told them it was because I had been a cheerleader in England, and they ate it up. Truthfully, my brain had been rewired to make me the most athletic my body could manage. It was a huge step up from clumsy Sasha. Because it was the beginning of the school year, the cheer team had to elect a captain, or the head cheerleader. Usually Kristen won with no competition but this time, I thought I’d throw in a little twist.

“Can anyone be elected?” I asked our coach, Robyn, innocently.

She beamed at me, “Yes, of course dear.”

“Then can I elect Heather?”

The entire cheer squad stared at me.

“Of course,” Robyn grinned, “so right now it’s Heather and Kristen. Any other nominations?”

Heather raised her hand, “I nominate Cassandra!”

“I nominate Anna!” shouted a freshman cheerleader that I had bribed earlier.

Anna beamed.

Robyn looked surprised at all the nominations this year but nodded and recorded them all down. “Alright girls, we will be voting on this year’s captain on Friday. Until then, you may campaign amongst the cheerleaders, but remember, keep it clean.” She shot a look at Kristen before walking out of the gym.

Anna and Heather walked over.

“I can’t believe I was nominated!” Anna squealed.

“Thanks for nominating me, Cassandra!” Heather grinned.

Kristen stalked over, “None of you will win. Head cheerleader has been my title for the past three years and I refuse to give it up my senior year.”

I smirked, “Time to relinquish the crown, old queen. One of us juniors will beat you this year.”

Anna and Heather nodded.

“Just you wait!” Kristen huffed, and stormed out of the room.

Phase 1 of the plan complete.

“Peter! Peter! Peter wait up!”

“Leave him alone Stalker Sasha,” Connor taunted.

“Shut up, Connor. Peter wait up!”

“Leave me the fuck alone, Stalker Sash.”

“Please Peter, we need to talk.”

“Listen up Stalker Sash. I have no interest in taking you to the 8th grade dance.”

“But I said I would pay you! Please, you have to...”

“No.” Peter shoved me against a locker, “Connor clean this mess up.”

Connor smirked as he approached me and held me against the locker as Peter walked away. I felt his warm breath on my ear as he leaned in, talking harshly against my ear. “Stalker Sasha. Give it up. Peter could never like such a creepy stalker like you. You should just leave this place forever.”

Then he slammed me against the locker, before letting go of me. He smirked, and walked away. I slid down to the floor. Maybe I was better off someplace else.

I woke up crying. These nightmares never stopped. The doctors had said they could erase my memory but I didn’t want them to. I wanted to remember. That way, I would have a reason to get revenge. So I would remember why I agreed to fall behind a grade, why I agreed to the surgery, and why I became Cassandra Remodell. This was the reason for everything.
