Hazel's Point of View

My name is Hazel Cameron Gruel. I am the age of 15 and go to Teal Lake High school. I am a sophomore there. And it's complete Hell.

People treat you like your a dust particle from a old window ceil. They call you names like "ugly" or "weird" or even say sentences like "that over there is the cancer of this school."

I'm a little used to it. Last year when I moved from Wyoming to here, I was starting off freshmen year.  At my old school, people weren't as cruel and black-hearted. But here...god it's hard to explain!

I don't regularly go to classes. Only the ones I want and feel like going to. I love English! I just love the writing and reading part. I don't mind history so sometimes I'll just go in there. I do the choir too because some people in there are really nice.

I'm not the only goth who does this. There are a total of six here at Teal Lake. Me and two others go to some classes. A boy named Bruce Capp does and my best friend Roselyn Frank.

Roselyn was the girl that accepted me when I cried on the cold pavement last year. We happened to become great friends and tell each other everything. Things like writing with each other, talking about what we just read and bands.

She dyed her hair dark blue while it originally was bright blonde. It literally was bright as sand. She had green eyes like a field of grass that has never been trimmed and she wasn't too fat or too skinny. She was right on point.

Me and Roselyn were walking to the coffee shop we love to go to called "Coffee Beanz." One of the goths named Travis Marks, his mother owns it. I met her before. Supposedly she was a metal head in high school which is awesome!

"Oh my god, you'll never believe what happened last time I was here." Roselyn bought up.
"What's that?" I asked and kinda wanted to know.
"So there was this cat," She explained, "it was a calico I think and guess what happened?" She said trying hard not to laugh. "What?" I asked. "It pukes all over this girls muffin!!" She said bursting out laughing.
I'll admit it actually did sound really funny!

"That's nasty!" I said laughing along with her.
We opened the doors and walked up to the counter.
"One black coffee and one hazelnut please." I said to the girl working behind.
"Will do!!!" She said in a high-pitched voice and skipped away like that one chick from "The Wizard of Oz."

"Let me tell ya Rose, I don't know who the moron is who hired her but I think her parents are parakeets!" I whispered to Roselyn. She nodded in response.

After we got our coffee from "Parakeet girl", we sat down by the corner we sit at.

"We should ask Travis if he can fire that bitch. I can't take her presence." Roselyn suggested.
"Yeah. He is the manager right?" I asked. She nodded and looked over to that girl. She was swinging her butt around like a whore.

I rolled my eyes back over to Roselyn. She took a sip of her coffee and looked up at me. I saw the strangest look in her eyes.

Curiosity.

"You okay?" I asked. She didn't answer and looked towards the window.
"Rose?" I ask again. She jolted her head towards me and smiled a little. "Ye-yeah everything's cool, or sucks I mean." She said looking down at her hands.
I just shrugged it off and took another sip of my coffee.

|30 Minutes Passed|

We decided to order four more cups of coffee for the others. We knew everything about each other, for instance our favorite coffee flavors.
"Mouse girl's" shift ended fifteen minutes ago so a dude took our order.
After that we left and went back to the football stadium.

Then Roselyn bought up something a little strange.
"Hey Hazel, uh do you know what a emo is?" She asks.

Yeah goth wannabes! How could I not!!

"Yes." I simply answered. "Why do you ask?"
"Because the other day I saw these guys while I walked past them and they said "look there's another emo like us." What happened to us?? Do I seem emo?" She asked in a pissed off voice.

"No Rose you don't.  Actually not at all.  Have you cut yourself yet?" I asked. She replied by shanking her head.
"Good. Let's not talk about those posers right now." I suggested. She just nodded and we continued to walk.

Little did we know that someone heard us...
