Let me explain the difference
Friends
When you comfort a friend they haven't seen you crazy side. They really don't know you, sure they might know your birthday, but I doubt they know that you only go to Starbucks on Thursdays because that cute guy Matthew works there on Thursday. It's just awkward cuz you don't know them and they don't know you.
Best Friends
Do I really have to explain this. For me this means I can tell my bff to shut the fuck up and eat a cookie. I can tell her that he was a fuckboy and it was obvious. I can also smack some sense into her.
