There were eight.
Hailey, Justin. Chris and Alyssa. Maddy, Em, Noel.
And then there was Willie.
Maddy was shorter than the others, but only by a small about. Her hair was light blonde, and the lashes around her bright blue eyes were the same shade. She had a pair of distinctive red glasses and a straight nose that made her appear very serious yet happy.
Em had auburn hair that was growing in orange at the roots. Her large, pale blue eyes (similar to Maddy's) gave an illusion if innocence impossible to deny.
Noel had black hair and dark, darn eyes that contrasted greatly with the other girls. She was tall and model like, with what I supposed would be prominent cheekbones even after she was well fed.
Willie. With dark blonde hair and boyish good looks, he immediately caught my attention. A smirk danced upon his lips, while a scowl played across mine. His plain grey eyes said it all. He was cocky and arrogant.
I gave a tour of the house-though there wasn't much to see- and sent Dean to get food from the storage unit. After a brief walk through of the rooms, everyone was directed towards the dining room.
I instructed each person to find a seat and arrange themselves accordingly along the fake wooden table. Of course, there were too many people. Several was forced to inhabit the couch.
I cleared my throat from my spot at the overcrowded table. Dean climbed up the cellar staircase with three jars in his large hands. I heard my stomach rumble, as well as a few others'.
Peaches.
I stood up quickly and grabbed a jar. I hungrily popped off the lid, as Dean did the same. I had to restrain myself from attacking the sweet smelling fruit while distributing it in the random pots and jars we had found to serve as makeshift bowls.
Without hesitation, everyone dug in. I could almost see the drool pouring out of Dean's mouth as he tore into his own pot of peaches.
I attempted to be civilized and appear somewhat restrained, but the hunger set in. I hadn't eaten since the day before. The last thing I'd had was a price of toast with strawberry jam for breakfast.
I glanced around the table. Everyone was eating happily and hungrily. Alyssa looked me straight in the eyes.
"I don't like peaches."
